think it was £59.99 last Black Friday

I know nothing about these things but been told i need some for juniors bedroom as the wifi is rubbish for his xbox one online gaming apparently.
Are they any good and worth the money as I've seen cheaper ones.
Will they work with Virgin's Vivid 200
Like most people we have multiple products and not enough sockets these days and the router is in the lounge powered via a ext cable.
Will these work with ext cables in place if so what best way to set everything up.
Do they come with the internet cable to connect to eveything
Can I link more than one set together as they might be ideal as well for my now tv box in my bedroom

Cheers

@mmurdoch If it's just Xbox gaming and internet access, then you'll probably find that the cheaper AV1000 or AV1200 models will be more than suitable, though it will depend on the wiring in your house. Unless you are on a 100Mbps broadband, the chances are the link on those devices will be faster than your broadband anyway.

Handy hint though, don't plug them into a socket that is within 1m of your phone socket, when I did this they interferred with by broadband

Thanks for reply, We have Virgin's Vivid 200mbs fibre broadband and last time i did a wireless speed test (in same room as the virgin router) it was hitting 135mbs, but to be honest it's usually all over the place and has dropped to 1.5mbs but soon got higher after a few tests (no idea why).

That's a bugger regarding electric socket and phone socket as the electrical socket in the lounge that powers the Virgin router is is located higher up the wall from the BT & Virgin telephone socket (Not sure on distance but less than a metre i think).

Thanks for your advice as I dont have a clue with these powerline thingy's

The av1200 are much better. Qualcomm based.

These are Broadcom based who use higher numbers in a misleading way.

I have the AV1200 and was looking at upgrading to these AV2000. Oh

Will give them a try and if they aren't much improvement I will send them back.

Yes!

The the numbers are misleading.

In this case tp link made no effort to distinguish between the two properly so I am not surprised people are confused. This also happens with routers.

Check reviews on AV Forums, they also say the AV1200 perform better than the AV2000.

my issues with that one were with a BT line, so I'm not sure if you would have the same issue with Virgin or not.

I ended up running an ethernet cable under the carpet to the other side of the living room from the phone socket and have it plugged in there.

Is there something similar available (spec, passthrough and price) but with wifi included too?

I'm afraid not yet, my search is ongoing!

I'm actually holding out for the Devolo 1200+ wifi model to come down to a price similar to this. I live in hope though as it's been holding it's price well at £119.99 for around 2 years now! Lol

Wow £120 that's pretty minty. Both plugs wouldn't have pass through tho would they one would have pass through and the other would be wifi booster?

So is the 1200 better than 2000. seen the following on amazon am i best getting the 1300 with 3 outlet things (is it worth the few extra £) even tho it's just for one product like the xbox one or just stick to the 1200 with one outlet. Got to try some as juniors doing my nut in

Yes both plugs would have pass through and one also has wifi to boost signal to other parts of the home or to provide a wifi connection to one device while the other can use the ethernet connection. Solid bit of kit as per reviews but as you say still quite pricey. If you don't need the wifi and just need an ethernet connection in another room away from the router a much cheaper set than these will suit your needs.

I currently have a set of av600's but I need to upgrade to one that has wifi to boost the signal in hard to reach places of my new home - i.e. the man cave in my new garage I know I could use an old router for this but I'm not very techy unfortunately.

For all the difference in price I would go for the 3 port pack jist to give you more connection options. You may only have need for one connection now but may find in a while you upgrade the tv or add a Sat Box in the room and it might be handy to have the extra connections available. But the choice is yours

You've got me thinking now as our wifi is a little patchy upstairs sometimes and I'm now wondering would it be better getting ones with pass through & the wifi thingy built in.
We have nothing wired via ethernet upstairs and always use wifi as the router is downstairs in the lounge.
Would this boost the wifi connection for us upstairs and make it more stable?

As far as I am aware yes they will do this. At least I hope they would as that's why I want them lol !
