BTWH is better so you can sleep easy. It may not, however, be better in terms of its intended function as a mesh wifi system, but that's beside the point.
Was waiting for Argos to drop the price of the two pack back to £99, but this is a steal at less than £50 a unit.

My three camels hasn't registered the price drop and thinks they're still £179.99 too...
The BT ones appear to be better as they have a transmission speed of 1733mbps on 5ghz but the TP links on here only have a transmission speed of 867mbps on the 5ghz.

Although this is a good price they are not suitable for speeds wirelessly over 220mb in the real world.

What's the main difference between the M4 and M5 systems?
Having a 3rd channel for the nodes to communicate over is always better, as if not, they do it over the shared channels along with the data.

The Deco M5 has Homecare which has the antivirus protecting every device at no additional cost for 3 years. This is the main difference. They both have parental controls, guest WiFi and Gigabit Ethernet port.
read somewhere that smart devices struggle on this system as they only use 2.4 an this doesnt have continuous 2 bands - its switches between the 2? (not technical so that was as best i understood it)

I think you're right with that. The Deco will manage traffic by intelligently moving device communications between bands.

I don't know if there's any scope for pinning devices to a certain band using QoS or other settings tho. I'll find out when it arrives tomorrow.

great id be interested to know!
iv 3 tplink bulbs an plugs controlled over google home - would seem ridiculous if they wouldnt function on the tplink mesh
Good reviews on the web/youtube but it seems that only 1 of those Amazon reviews relates to this product. I hate how Amazon groups different product reviews now, it's so misleading.

I may take a punt on this, 3 nodes for £120 looks like one of the cheapest mesh systems around (except for Tenda) and the android app has good reviews which is always a good sign.

Anyone got any experience if using this system with SONOS and Google Home?

Thanks. I'm not fussed about that sort of thing, I tend to turn off router antivirus anyway.

Working perfectly as a mesh as far as I can tell.
No more WiFi dead spots. Devices hand off seamlessly.

Why have these taken so long to come to market. Could have used them years prior.

No, this is squarely consumer grade.

I expect Google Home hubs will connect and work just fine. However, unlike other TP-Link products the Deco line only seems to officially be compatible with Alexa. Hopefully IFTTT support would allow me to use Google Home Mini's to control it.

Looks a great product, but can you select 2.4 ghz, as I have a lot of home devices that only operate on this mode?

The virgin Hub does the same, but can isolate in the router settings, I am hoping you can do the same with this, anyone confirm?

Having owned the M5 and not being impressed. I don’t think you’re missing out.
Got these in the deal and really pleased so far. Not sure about smart devices but I have a laptop that only connects to 2.4 and it's working with no issues. Having 2 gigabit ports on each one is a godsend.
Why do we need this. What about that BT ad with wifi in helicopter.
