Good price for this well reviewed MESH Wi-Fi 3-pack. Also on three easy payments and you can send it back if not happy!

I have a Netgear Orbi MESH system and can confirm it really does make for smoothers Wi-Fi throughout your home.

This or bt WiFi
This has built in Virus protection and works with Alexa. The BT Whole Home (AC2600) is faster but you would only notice the difference if you had a very fast Internet connection and multiple users streaming large amounts of data.
I get a bit confused by these Mesh systems. We have a Plusnet router that cannot be switched to modem mode. If I were to buy these, would I also need to buy a modem?

I think you just disable the WiFi on the router and let this run the WiFi

But also remember to set up the MESH system in access point mode and not in router mode. If you run your existing router and the Deco in router mode you will end up with double NAT, which will cause no end of issues!

M5 has virus protection at root (included free for 3 years), smaller form factor and QoS.

BT has more bandwidth, stronger signals but no QoS.

If you have thick brick walls, I'd lean towards BT else they will both do the job well.

If you can't turn your existing router into modem mode then you need to set the Deco (or any other MESH system) into Access Point Mode.

In AP mode you will lose the client isolation in the guest WiFi. Not a problem for some, but I like to keep things like Echo dots, smart bulbs away from the main network.
It is almost always better to use a modem with these MESH systems rather than AP mode. AP mode is for those who can't get their existing router into modem mode.
