Control electronics from anywhere using your tablet or smartphone with the HS100 smart plug. Turn devices on/off, check status, create schedules and set timers using the Kasa app. Gain peace of mind by checking on your devices remotely and always coming home to a well-lit house. Use away-mode to make it look like you are home when you travel and have lights turn on/off at set times to conserve energy and save on your next bill. Add voice control to any electronic device by pairing with Amazon Echo.

They are great but the kasa app on my phone crashed and my electric heater was on for 17.5 hours yesterday when I had a 30 min timer set. Could be my phone though...

Could have unplugged it?

These regularly go on sale at Aria for ~£16/17.

Even better now they support IFTTT.

10p cheaper than when I bought them from Sainsburys . Wish I'd waited now .

I have the HS110's which for the marginal price difference is what i go for, but this isnt a bad price for the HS100's

Not from a different location, I trusted the timer and left the house assuming all was well with the world

Surely once the times are set it is their Kasa servers that control the plugs and not your phone, I have eight of these and all of them run flawlessly no matter where I am and no matter what my phone is doing (even if it is completely off). The app is just to do the set up and then the central server would take over and this has nothing to do with your phone.

Yep you could uninstall the app and it'll still work.

To prove it, turn your phone off.

I only use mine with things that I don't mind being left on in error. Wouldn't use for any electric heater in anger, probably not ideal unless the heater has thermal cutout etc. Just my opinion though!

How good is the IFTTT integration? Would be good to have the kettle boiled when I'm a mile from home etc, but fear I am asking too much.

IFTTT integration does not appear to be developed enough. I was hopping to be able to trigger an action when the TP-Link plug is switched on or off (i.e. use the plug status as a trigger) but this does not appear to be possible which is a shame as this would have allowed by to set Auto-off timers after a switch has been turned on (more like what WeMo switched can do).

I often wonder when people mention the kettle how they make sure the button/switch on the kettle is pressed? Seems a failing of the kettle idea to me.
