Got one of these 2wks ago and it's brilliant. No problems at all with the app connecting to the camera via wifi or mobile network, which seems a common complaint about a lot of similar cameras.

The app is good and sends a notification on your phone when motion is detected. You can select parts of the area covered by the camera for it to concentrate on, such as windows or doorways. The night vision, image and footage quality are all excellent, even when only set to 720. The camera does pan and tilt, following movement really well and can even be controlled manually from the app, which is a nice touch.

Within the app, you can push to have a two way conversation with whoever is within earshot. The speaker isn't brilliant, but it does work. The mic picks up sound reasonably well.

You do get cloud access to the recordings for up to 12hrs free and they can be streamed or downloaded. After 12hrs, they are deleted. There is a subscription service if 12hrs isn't sufficient.

I'm really happy with the performance of this and would happily buy again.

Not bad as TP-Link are a pretty good company.

If you want an ONVIF camera that works with Blue Iris security software, I reccomend this amazon.co.uk/gp/…c=1
Anyone know of a good similar price outdoor cam tia
Got one the other day, ok camera but you only get 2 years clouds storage, after that you have to subscribe to Kasa Care. Am sending mine back
Good price. Yi is around £27 without alexa.

No, that doesn't tilt 360° nor can it move left/right.

It's this

YI Dome Camera 1080p HD Pan/Tilt/Zoom Wireless IP Security Surveillance System Night Vision Cloud Service Available amazon.co.uk/dp/…C2R

But atm its expensive so I'd rather buy the posted deal camera.
Mines inside watching car through window. When its sunny I do get glare coming through but it's better than nothing
Keep an eye (pun intended) on the yi
They drop in price a lot
I have 3 very impressed

How is 2 years of recording of your house indoor not enough - 99% of which is not much useful and would normally be overwritten (1% for any specific occurence you needed recording)?

Agree. I paid £27 for the home camera last month, when on 'offer'.
Just wait a while and the current £40 price will come back down. Couldn't be happier with both this and YI dash cam, both tremendous for the low price.

Not what I meant, the footage is only backed up for 12 hours to the cloud , after 2 years of the free plan you have to sign up to a paid plan which gives up to 30 days storage.
The free plan stops being accessible after 2 years so the camera essentially becomes redundant unless you're willing to pay forever. Can still view it live but pretty useless imo

I got two sent over on Prime Day. Sent them back as they were asking for way to many ports to be open on the router.

Seriously ? Weird, can always use open source firmware if that worried and supports RTSP.. a better product than any TP-Link.. IMO

The "newer" model is a totally different product. It has the option to have an SD Card but doesn't connect to smart assistants.
Cheers

I have 2 of these cameras which I use as Baby Monitors, so far had no issues with it, I've found the sound and video quality have been much better than products marketed as Baby monitors, the only features this lacks compared to those are a the ability to play lullabies or display of the room temperature.

In the US the Kasa Care plan is just $4 a month. If they setup a similar price point in the UK it's nothing really 13 cents a day.

How does it work with Google home?

Can't think of a reason I'd need that. Do you think this or the yi make is better?
Also the main link goes to a different model.

Anybody know if I would be able to stream on my phone through WiFi, would the app be continuously on or cut off every 5 mins so I have to keep pressing play ....
Thanks for the info everybody
Does the app allow love side by side viewing of multiple cameras?
