Between these and Kasa I now have 7 failed plugs out of 8. 4 went back to Amazon, the other 3 are sat in a corner as I can’t recall where they came from. All are under 2 years. The 4 pack that went back to Amazon was I under 12-month!

I can’t recommend an alternative, but I am currently giving Refoss (Meross) a go.

I've got 5 kasa plugs well over 2 years and all work fine still.

The later model the P110 comes with energy monitoring which is cool because you can punch into the app the cost per unit. The app will then tell you how much energy and cost that socket has used.
    here's the 4 pack

would not feel safe putting 240v into these...

It's ok. We use 230v in the UK now 😜

I have around 6 of these and 6 Kasa and have not had a single failure in the past few years I have used them. They all switch on and off daily too.

Does anyone know if these support both 2.4ghz vs 5ghz WiFi?
    A57ton's avatar
    No, 2.4GHz only.

Been charging my car through one of these for 6 months without any issues.

When do you reckon it’ll be fully charged?

Do these work with the Kasa app?
If they do, what is the difference between the Tapo and the Kasa ? (edited)
    Set-Phasers-To-Stun's avatar
They don’t, you’ll need the Tapo app.

Bought a single. Impressed so far. Simple to set up and use. Good for routines including plugged in music and lights for when we are on holiday.

Still pleased with mine. Total hardware reliability. One did once get confused about its time - powered off/on and back to normal. However I have not been hammering them with switching 3kw loads…
IMHO the power monitoring one’s aren’t really worth the extra. Because they only measure or report every 45 seconds or so, they don’t seem to give a good picture of the total consumption when it is made up of brief surges - like my coffee machine.
That said, I have now seen that my Instant Pot (whatever the mode) just switches on/off the full heating power - it doesn’t have two elements and only use one of them for slow cooking as I had half expected!

I have Kasa and Tapo. Both are operated identically (and transparently) through Google voice assistants.
Both are completely happy on my dual-band TP Link mesh Wi-Fi.
