Entry level xDSL Wireless Modem Router, probably the best bang for buck one available.

Only 100mbps ethernet, not everyone needs Gigabit ports.

Sold by Amazon and in stock, where does it say only one left?

As for the 100mb ethernet ports being too slow, it's faster than a 80mb Fibre connection, the majority use it for internet traffic so this isn't an issue.

Entry level, £30!

Absolutely - got one at Argos last week for a friend who needed a new modem/router and doesn't need 5GHz - a bargain for him - and plenty, plenty fast enough for ADSL/VDSL users short of the fastest FTTC and FTTP services. Also has 10 IPSEC vpn tunnels for those that have a use for that kind of vpn. Ignore the first commenter.

It's not the same thing.
It's like comparing a jeep to a car. They do the same thing, but have different uses. That being, that you have just posted a router, not a modem router!!!

Your suggested alternative is not the same - it is a standalone router, not a modem/router, so would require another box as a modem to achieve the same thing as this deal.

Can I connect this to BT Infinity (directly without a separate modem)? The BT SmartHub/HomeHub6 is a piece of ****.

Yes you can. The TP Link is VDSL which means you don't need a separate modem for fibre.

You can get around £30-£40 for your BT HH6 on ebay, plenty sold for around £40~ incl. p&p. X)

3 Year warranty on TP Link modem routers, you have to pay postage (about £3.50 if you pack it in a jiffy bag) - decent price for a decent router that's probably as good as most ISP supplied devices. I had the 8970 ADSL and it was fine and have the 9980 VDSL and it's also been fine.

It actually not a bad device.
Mini review of low cost TP-Link W9970 VDSL2 modem/router
Has a quality Broadcom chipset which is definitely better than some of the "superfast" routers that Talktalk and others give away for free.

I just bought one from Flubit for £27. I'll be using it in bridge mode to connect to my gigabit netgear wifi router which does not have a VDSL2 modem built in to it.
