AV1200s are £50 for a pair on Amazon. You realise that they're all compatible, right?

....... but then they will then all run at the speed of the slowest unit on the system, so you need them all to be the same speed rating to get the best throughput.
Is thus better or the mesh?

I replaced these with BT Mesh and never had any problems since. There are known issues with the Wifi Connection where you cannot get an internet connection but can get WiFi. Constantly restarting these and the internet connection dropout was random. I tried all sorts to fix but to no avail. The LAN / Wired connections were fine but that defeats the point of buying these.
In my experience powerline adapters are all trash. It might work fine in your installation or it might give endless headaches. It might work fine in one room but not the next. Do yourself a favour, run a cable. If you can't run a cable, use WIFI.
I have powerline and it takes a longg time to setup.
I have had av2000 speed for 2 year s now.
I have got 5 of theses in my house and have been using them for the last two years...work perfectly
Had several sets over the years, started on 85mbs, now got 4x 1000mbs units and I wouldn't be without them! Vastly superior to wifi.
Have used these for over 4 years in different rooms without any issues. Occasionally drop connection but easily corrected by restarting them.
