This is the lowest price this device has been. I've been monitoring it on CamelCamelCamel for sometime. It is highly recommended online for connecting devices such as TVs/YouView boxes (that do not support wireless connectivity) without running cables everywhere.

I have purchased using Amazon student, so actually £9.45 for me, but even still for under a tenner a steal if it works as widely described.

This can be powered either through a USB port or through a wall socket, so easily hid behind a TV or such.

EDIT: Now out of stock, but you can still 'backorder' - find the "new from £9.95" button and select the one sold by Amazon.

EDIT 2: 'twas fun, but looks like it's over. Amazon price gone up to £15.90. Still an okay price but not quite as good as it was.

Great price.
i have 4 and they are great , coupled with a Homeplug.

if it works as widely described.

Ours didn't extend our wi-fi signal at all. But I guess it depends on so many variables you'll never know until you try it!

We now have a BT Home Hotspot kit which is fantastic.
These are great little devices with multiple uses

So Dan, if I'm getting this right does this work by connecting to my wifi wirelessly and then I can plug this in to a device via a Ethernet port and that device will have Internet? Similar to my TPLINK WA850? And you can power this thing via a plug or USB port?

Yep

According to the specs and many Google results it all works/should work. Have ordered my first one today so can't say I've personally tried it but I've had my eye on this device for that very reason for some time.

I have bought a few around this price before. Good little devices. Check for firmware updates.

Not sure how this can be described as a mini router

Because it is one? Seems as good a reason as any to describe it as such!
Would this be a good choice if I want to improve the internet speed on my ps4?
I am thinking of plugging this into my ps4 as my router is downstairs.
Anybody managed to run Tomato on this?

No you would be better with powerlines. This will run at about a 6th of the WiFi speed that you would get direct from your main modem
Can you disable the DHCP/router on this? I can't on my £7 "NEXX WT3020F 300Mbps, Portable Mini Wireless NAS Router AP Repeater USB Interface Two Ethernet Ports" Nice wee wireless NAS though. Heat added. :8)
I've a similar model (710?) And it causes nothing but problems trying to use it as a NAS. It made my existing network unusable when connected by Ethernet.

If you go to a hotel room that either doesn't have wifi (Or charges) but they do have an ethernet port. Plug it into there and create your own little network (Just have it on access point mode)

Hello

Quick question, can you configure these so that they connect to a VPN as a client? Would make a great VPN box when travelling if that is the case.

Cheers

You dodged a bullet. They are unstable boxes of crap. You will be constantly rebooting them.
Can this be used to repeat public/hotel hotspots that require login?

No this works the other way around. You connect the box via ethernet and it then creates a wireless signal.

I've had this for a good few years and it's been perfect to use as a wireless extender when coupled with powerlines or for those pesky hotels that still only have LAN internet so you can create your own wireless hot spot.

It works both ways round, as a bridge or as a router
Pc World had these in their clearance basket for £4.97 a while ago, only one mind!
