Good price for a backup router. Shame it doesn't have gigabit Ethernet.

Would this be any better than the Plusnet one Technicolor tg582n mainly for gaming.

Looks like a Wii fit.

Ive a Technicolour router with Plusnet, my wireless connection isnt great, hows yours?

The Technicolour is poor on every level. Wifi is atrocious(drops two bars no more than 5 meters away), security is almost non-existent(try blocking clients based on mac on either wired or wifi). You can't even tell what speed your line synced at through the gui on the version of code mine runs.

Would this improve on the speed of the internet? I can get up to 18Mbps on my ADSL line but ever since I switched from BT to Sky broadband, my connection has gotten worst. I'm trying to figure out if its the Sky router problem? I connect via wired connection and neither of the ADSl providers traffic manages...

Jhc1: yes the Techincolor's do provide line stats.. Also you can device block per hour and various sites. Yes the wireless on the 582 is poor and yes its an entry level adsl wireless modem router.

Slash: line conditions, may have caused your adsl to drop to a lower line sync. What are you getting now?

I live in the same house. But moved from BT ADSL to Sky ADSL due to Sky being cheaper. I'm now trying to figure if its just Sky ADSL providing poorer internet speed or did they give me a Sky router that limits my internet speed. I connect via wired router.
