Looks neat. Will it work in the same app? I have 5 of the hs100 all linked and working with smartthings, will the compatibility continue? Still to be seen

It's a Kasa unit, it's bound to work with Kasa app.

Isn't it strange how that looks SO much like the "Tapo" one? Manual button and indicator light seem identically positioned! Whatever the marketing dept are smoking, it must be strong stuff!
These are good plugs fo sure! Thanks for sharing

I just noticed, it has switching on the side? So if you have two next to each other you cant manually turn them on/off?

...can you fit two next to each other? That would be the only advantage that would make me consider these...

I have many of this Kasa HS100 / HS110 smart plugs in my house since more than a year and I never turned on & off while touching a button physically on it, always used App / Alexa / Automated with Smartthings.

....regarding fitting we can't say anything right now as its not been released yet.

Fair, i have two lamps that the kids use physical buttons for. We dont have alexa and they dont have phones yet.

The rest is used in my overengineered hobby of fish keeping for airing, lights, CO2 etc etc
These are really good smart plugs. Been using them for several years now. Well built and reliable

3 for £30 is the deal to look out for when avaiable (Argos)

Yeah its upto owns personal requirements even I have got some TP-Link Tapo smart plugs which are quiet smaller then this Kasa ones and they fits well next to each other, so I hope the Kasa new plugs might be of similar size to Tapo ones.
I have posted some comparison pics. for HS100 & Tapo plugs you can see through below link.

Just bought the Tapo version for £9.99 on Amazon, still unclear as to what the difference is.

Set it up a few hours ago and is working well. Hope it stays that way.

It's a different app I think so if you didnt have any before, no problem, if you have many already, two apps are silly
Anyone know if these will sync up with the TP Deco mesh routers? Think I have the M4

EDIT - just read a review that says it only works with Kasa. Shame really

Ahh, thanks. That explains the amount of Kasa people complaining in the reviews then!
I'm waiting for the new slim plug but it's a good deal here too. Also don't forget IFTT supports KASA only for now, I've asked about new TAPO but no one knows anything for now.

The most infamousely frequent HUKD statement (maybe it should become the slogan of the page)

"...need another one just in case..."

frequently accompanied by
"...I didn't know I needed one..."

Enjoy!
Apparently Tapo is like your Tesco value and Kasa is your Tesco Finest. Seems a bit weird D-Link having two ranges doing the same things unless there is a subtle difference. Perhaps Tapo are manufactured more cheaply or may be less reliable in the long run.
Kasa has the third party API (including IFFFT available) as well, it was open (or reverse engineered) and can be used in apps like Home Assistant.

Tapo's API is not open and has not been 'broken' yet so is not currently compatible. Work is being done but I don't think it will be as quick as the Kasa.

I regret buying the 9.99 Tapo now as I have no 'visibility' of it in my eco-system but it was rated at 13A and 2995W and wanted it on a convection heater where I didn't trust a Sonoff.

I'd much prefer the HS110 as they do energy monitoring as well but they never seem to drop to decent enough prices.
Out of interest what do people use these for?

Fair play, I've seen they are popular but couldn't see any personal uses apart from lamp which I've used timer sockets for before, but makes sense.
