The People's Operator

250 mins, unltd texts, 512MB (4G): £2.99/mth*
CHEAP FOR LOW USERS WHO NEED 4G SPEED

The People's Operator* now offers 4G. For £2.99/mth you get 250 minutes, unlimited texts and 512MB of data.

Launched in 2012, The People's Operator is a piggyback network running off Three's signal. The company has had mixed customer service feedback in the past, but it's taken steps to improve since. It will also give 10% of your monthly spend (pre-VAT) to a charity of your choice – a nice touch.

Need-to-knows
30-day rolling contract; contracts terminate at the end of the calendar month in which you give notice.
Runs off the Three network.
Calls to UK mobiles and landlines included. Calls to 084/087 numbers extra – see call costs.
Use up your allowance and you'll have to pay 3p/MB and 10p/min.
You won't be credit-checked, though it'll carry out a basic ID check.

What i like is low out of allowance costs and no credit check. However no tethering though and customer service can be crap! Still a good deal fow low users

Customer service is CRAP!!

It might well be but once its all set up you do not need to contact customer service. So for this price its worth the hassel. But agreed customer service is crap. Hence why in the post it says so
TPO is an mvno using the 3 network. Initially used the EE network now moved to 3. I'm with these guys, I find that customers service is fine...not that I've needed to call them much.

Stay away from this company. They were kicked off the EE network for not paying them. when they moved from EE to 3 they lost my number which I had for 10 years. After finally agreeing compensation, 6 months later I'm still waiting for them to pay up.
I'm with these guys, only seem to get hspa+ rather than 4g in areas where I always got 4g with 3.
Rubbish company, gave them 1 months advanced notice on my PAC Code and they still screwed up... Reception / call quality is dire... 4G? Quicker using morse code... Might save a few quid but you will get a very poor quality of service and dire customer service. Oh... And after 2 weeks of emails to them they are refusing to send me my PAC Code as I want to ditch them! Horrible company!
Takes a good minute for my data to attempt to connect, even if showing as "4G". LIFE were a decent service, exceptional customer service too - pity they were bought out. Oh and as above the call quality as opposed to the likes of O2, EE - probably half the quality, have the people who I talk to complain about the line and ask me to shout crappy service and that's if you can get a signal.
I swear I seen on hukd for £5 you can get a lot more mins and data on other sim only plans?

500MB you mean
DO NOT BUY. No tethering, no real person to talk to. Poor/non-responsive customer service to cancellation.
I wish more used o2 network as I can't get a signal on Three or ee and my Tesco deal is no longer competitive.

Heat added for this deal though.

Yeah its weird only ee and three seem to have good mvno's o2 are more sparse but more expensive. And voda closes down its cheap option and rather than moving all customers to vodafone it gives them a choice of a pac with most customers taking up the option as voda is so expensive. Strange situation to be honest

I have no problems with the TPO.

I get better signal than Life/Plusnet but that is only down to my location. I left Life/Plusnet as calls kept dropping and I'd regularly get "no service" which could only be resolved by making and then cancelling a call.

I was worried about the TPO's alleged poor customer service, but I never need to call my mobile provider for anything at all. I struggle to think of a reason why I'd need to! I never port numbers, I've found it too much hassle, and changing numbers isn't a problem for me.

For £4 per month, it's a winner.

I pay £4 for my roller
I called customer services twice today and was on hold for 47 and 59 minutes, never accessed a human! WTH?!

I wanted to query how to opt out of their marketing and sharing my personal details with third parties as signing up gives you no opt out option, and their T&C's say nothing about opting out. Wrote to them twice by email, no response. I requested a SIM which never arrived, and I cannot request anothee as my email address is already registered. Usesless company so far!

It seem to be run by clowns if that's what you have gone through and no one got back to you.
Do you use online banking? You won't be able to TPO because "Thank you for contacting us. Unfortunately we do not support SMS from short code numbers."

That means when banks, ebay, paypal, etc tries to authenticate you via SMS you will never receive the SMS. Lol TPO = joke.
