The People's Operator
1,000 mins, unltd texts, 2GB (4G): £5.99/mth*
CHEAP FOR MEDIUM USERS WHO NEED 4G SPEED
The People's Operator* now offers 4G. For £5.99/mth you get 1,000 minutes, unlimited texts and 2GB of data.

Launched in 2012, The People's Operator is a piggyback network running off Three's signal. The company has had mixed customer service feedback in the past, but it's taken steps to improve since. It will also give 10% of your monthly spend (pre-VAT) to a charity of your choice – a nice touch.

Need-to-knows
30-day rolling contract; contracts terminate at the end of the calendar month in which you give notice.
Runs off the Three network.
Calls to UK mobiles and landlines included. Calls to 084/087 numbers extra – see call costs.
Use up your allowance and you'll have to pay 3p/MB and 10p/min.
You won't be credit-checked, though it'll carry out a basic ID check.

Double the mins and good out of allowance calls! No tethering though

Just joined tpo and discovered i cant ring 073 mobile numbers, not recognised. Their response was that this was a premium rate number...absolute nonsense, its my fathers mobile number from virgin I think. Just so happens that to activate premium rate number requires a deposit of £100...Think i'll be jumping ship from this crew.

Can only see it at £6.49 on their site
**** customer service, they completely ignore your tickets.
Hopeless signal in Bolton Lancashire
Contrary to their coverage status, I have no signal where I am, so take that with a pinch of salt!

£50 deposit to use … £50 deposit to use abroad?!https://help.thepeoplesoperator.com/hc/en-gb/articles/206482079-Can-I-use-my-phone-abroad-

Bloody hell, and then you only get it back after 6 months!
I had to leave as there is no customer service. They do not offer spending cap either. Using Plusnet now, so far so good.
All these good deals from lesser established companies, but all the negative feedback makes me wonder, is it really that bad?

three even admit their signal checker is hopelessly out of date, as you said they say ours has good coverage and you get the sim and its not.
its seems that the OP keeps spamming these TPO things.

They are KACK - read the online reviews
I was with TPO for one month. Reason for leaving was poor data speeds from their 4G network. With Plusnet mobile now and speeds are top notch.
worst mobile phone operator on the planet.

Lost thousands of peoples numbers ( and they could not get them back ) - took 6 months to get any compensation. stay away. poor company to deal with
Plusnet all the way... you may get less data etc but you can cap it and change tariffs

£5 on plusnet will actually cost you £5 a month

dont ignore the reviews above !!!!

tbf you should just sync your contacts through Google if you using an android phone.... numbers are always on your account... no need to manually enter each time when you change sims

They must be bad if even Ken's Tech Tips says

As of March 2016, TPO has 80,000 subscribers in the UK... For the time being, we would recommend readers against joining the TPO mobile network

In comparison, iD Mobile hit half a million in 20 months..

Plusnet Mobile all the way for me too. TPO just doesn't seem a viable player.

I think he means his personal number and others - thousands - have been affected

it was sarky - cos his reply didnt relate to what i was saying - plus he used lol
DO NOT BUY.
Apparently the £50 for eu roaming is old policy, so they will activate eu roaming free of charge now. Issue still with ringing 073 numbers, waiting 1 more day on resolution or im offski to plusnet.
Gave TPO 1 months notice on my PAC code, they told me to contact them on the 22nd - which I did - too around a dozen emails to them over the following two days to get a reply as they were leaving me potentially with another contract with O2 because if the pac wasn't transferred then apparently I would be stuck with O2.... Anyways......... TPO told a lot of porkies, missed out all of the parts of the complaint that they couldn't answer truthfully to and to finish that off the reception is dire, the data is very very slow even with the 4G signal..........

If you don't mind dire, lying customer services plus want stress and don't mind your phone becoming a tin can with string, and the person you are speaking to constantly complaining about the quality of the calls - then TPO is for you.....
I called customer services twice today and was on hold for 47 and 59 minutes, never accessed a human! WTH?!

I wanted to query how to opt out of their marketing and sharing my personal details with third parties as signing up gives you no opt out option, and their T&C's say nothing about opting out. Wrote to them twice by email, no response. I requested a SIM which never arrived, and I cannot request anothee as my email address is already registered. Usesless company so far!
