Right so after the awesome cex trade in deal expired, they have now put their prices well down.

I wanted to get rid of this paperweight and managed to trade it in game for £180 cash. Was offered £190 credit, which i declined. I believe this is the best trade in value you can find, and some people may still be able to make a profit depending on where it was purchased from.

I do not think this will last long

i missed cex offer by a day, this was the best option left now, cex have gone well below this offer

game staff must have stopped buying them

I'll check mine tomorrow

I bought the 3DS today, amazing bit of kit, but I was suffering with a headache and nausea after about 30 minuts

Game price stands until tomorrow, I was told. Cex was the best deal by far.looks like people abused it, probably after it was listed on here.

End of tomorrow?

@neonknightz

I had the same, headache and nausea, but the next day i didn't get any problems at all when playing it and i still haven't had it since. Give it time, it's just your eyes adjusting to it.

I must be a lucky one as I've had no problems with nausea or headache and I've played on it for about 20 hours so far (not all in a row I hasten to add, probably just 4-5 hours at a time at the most). However, I don't have the 3d up full pelt, I go about 2/3, as otherwise I find a slight movement of the head from side to side gives me triple vision. Sometimes I do turn it off completely if I'm doing a difficult bit of a game as it can be a distraction sometimes but overall, I'm really happy with mine. Roll on Zelda, mario and AC!

Its a real shame I'll say, I'll give it a go tomorrow, but if I feel it again, I guess I'll be going to Game/HMV or CEX online to try and recoup some cash

I've been waiting since its announcement, its a fantastic bit of kit and the 3D effect is amazing, really got potential for the future ( I wanted MGS 3D the most)

I also have a history of headaches, migraines and motion sickness..... so that probably doesn't help

then the 3d effect isnt new.....weve had a tv that uses the similar tech (3d without glasses) in our reception for over 2 years...technically great, the effect was better than the 3ds but totally unwatchable...absolutely hated it though

played the 3ds and a bit mixed, thought it was technically good but not sure if i could play a 3d game for long

I just don't put the slider up very far but the 3D effect is still great.

According to this page the offer might only be available if you pre-ordered the 3DS from game. Did you buy the 3DS from Game?

Just been into town, its not just for GAME online orders, my local is taking any 3DS for £180 cash

I took mine into HMV and got £180 cash for the console alone, not bad since I got the Console and RR3D for £193

Thanks for the update NeonKnightz, you've just saved me a journey to GAME. HMV is closer to me

sold it to gamestation instead as they gives out reward point(game dont) 1800points = £4.5, nice

No problem, my local game store wanted me to wait till 4:30pm so they would have more cash

the staff in HMV were more than happy to go to the safe and withdraw the cash

Thanks - traded mine in as couldn't get away with the 3D and kept the slider on low. Remember when trading for cash you need photo ID. I didn't realise as I've always traded for store credit and had to go back with passport later. Heat added

Do these stores know something we don't? Are they expecting to run out of stock?

Might be worth waiting a week and looking at ebay prices rocketing.

Does anyone remember the steve martin film "the jerk"?
he invented a pair of glasses called the opti-grab which made everyone who wore them cross eyed.
methinks the 3DS will do something similar.

LOL that is pretty funny tbh. I wouldn't have been impressed. Go to Game i believe she said something like last 8 weeks or maybe 12

Gonna try tomorrow. Gutted I didn't check cex last Thursday when I received the 3ds

Can't you just return it to the place you bought it for a full refund? That's what I'd do if I didn't like mine.

i bought mine from argos, which they exclude from the 30 day money back guarantee

I'd probably go with the product is giving me headaches route. There is no warning on the box other than warning about not using it while you're tired or if you are under the age of 7.

Did the store you purchased it from have a demo unit for use when you collected it?

This is true - I work in the medical profession and I've seen displays like the one on 3DS but on a much larger scale (42 inches) several years ago now. The problem with these displays is that the viewing angle is very limited and therefore for normal TV watching this is not so good.

What is the point in buying a 3DS then immediately sell it? Obviously its a new device so games will be limited.

I didn't ask as i didn't think it would be a problem. Oh well, live and learn

Its not the lack of games

its the crippling headaches/migraines, nausea, dizziness and general discomfort that the 3D effect causes in some people

Well game have changed their stance haven't they? Before the launch they advertised, "play the 3ds for only £7"

I'm also one of the people who pre-ordered one and found myself very underwhelmed (played one when I was drunk before launch in Notts and found it superb, perhaps that's the trick to it).

Got a refund from Tesco's with no questions asked. Lost £35 on Pilotwings 3D but I'll probably get £25 on Ebay for it.

I'm happy with mine. First day I played it for say, just 20 minutes and had a headache all night.
However, I've played it the last couple of days and been okay.
Every now and then, I'll just change it to standard (no 3d).
Can't wait for the decent games to come out: Mario etc.
I bet there will be some new gems from game-makers who understand the capability of 3D.

I don't understand why Game etc offer so much?
Surely they get it cheaper off their suppliers?
Confused...

Played on the 3ds for hours with no problems, I think its just if you move it about that you'll get eye strain.

S

I had some eyestrain the first day of use after about 10 minutes ...and couldn't play at full 3D.

2 days later I could play for hours with full 3D and no problems.

I guess it's like exercise....first few days you might be so out of shape you can barely do a press up...a few days later it's no problem.

If you like the 3DS but get headaches....I'd at least give it at least a week (and certainly don't start out at full 3D). Chances are your eyes will get used to it after a couple of days.

Go back and say it's faulty and you want a refund. If they say they'll only give an exchange say you've heard there are many with apparent faults causing headaches and you don't want to risk it. They can't really say no.

If you don't want the confrontation, simply look online at the stock checker and find a local store with no stock and take it there. They won't have stock for an exchange so will by default give a refund.

I haven't got headaches from it so mine is staying

Orcarina of time and Mario Kart possibly in June? Go on then.

you paid £60 for pilotwings? oO

got a 3DS yesterday. i too was a bit concerned as i had a go last week and had a little headache after. Got my own 3DS and i havent had any issues. Infact my eyes have gotten completly used to it - the 3d effect just "works" straight away even with slider at the top.

really enjoying ridge racer and getting pilotwings later. cant want to starfox and zelda.
