There is a cheaper 21 night option but not all inclusive with a slightly different itinerary leaving on 11th April if All Inclusive doesn't appeal but this is a great deal for a 19 night all inclusive cruise, which includes flights, transfers, luggage and tips.

Flights departing from London on 28 April and returns to Southampton.

All right Gloria hunniford, calm down. I worked on cruise ships and these are pretty decent islands. Don't knock it

Erm, how about single people or people that choose to travel on their own? I've been on holiday on my own, met some other people that *gasp* are also travelling on their own too!
21 nights on Marella Explorer - no thanks!
Did a Thomson Caribbean cruise 9 years ago to 10 different islands in 2 weeks and loved it. Barbados was ok but the other islands were great, with St Maarten and British Virgin Islands our favourite, trip to Virgin Gorda from BVI is well worth it.

The ships might not be as lush as other cruise ships but they're also not as expensive either. Couldn't fault the staff, service, entertainment, food or drink (still haven't drank as nice a pinacolada). Met some great people, our teenage sons had a great time too, and hoping to book a TUI Mediterranean cruise for summer 2020 soon

Marella cruises (ex Thompson cruises) aren't the best quality cruises by a long way but they do get half decent reviews and there's no doubting that this is excellent value for money, including flights to Barbados.

Voted hot.

Shame the caption pic you've used is of a far superior ship to the one you'd actually go on !

Brest, Le havre, Cherbourg, Zeebrugge....no thanks !

Still decent value for the money though I think. You'll feel some nice sun on your back for a week or 2, as much food and drink as you can get down you. I personally don't fancy Marella cruises but like I said, the reviews aren't too bad.

Oh dear, name calling, so sad indeed !....Yea, the islands of the French channel ports are amazing....
For anyone who doesn't want all inclusive, this is a better deal imo and is over Easter too and outside cabin.

Now I’ve got kids I wish there was a school holidays version of hukd. Would love to go on a cruise with the kids but there’s no way to find what’s good value.

poor sod, now i get the picture, well enjoy your travels, long as u have a good time
How many days at sea, given its transatlantic?
I'm confused - you've shown a picture of a P&O ship however others have mentioned the car ferries that are TUI cruise ships - which is it? If it's the latter, I'd rather spend 19 nights in Benidorm / Butlins - it's the same experience
I appreciate the heads up. Thank you. I dont see why there are so many a#$%£¥ comments from people. Cant be very happy with life I guess.

I didn't put up the pic, mods must have edited it.
Zeebrugge is a short bus/train ride from Brugges which is a lovely city and well worth a visit.
Cherbourg is handily located for tours of the Normandy beaches and surrounding areas. Really interesting around there for anyone interested in history.
Le Havre is good for a trip to Honfleur.

The Marella Explorer has never been a ferry. She started life as a Celebrity cruise ship before being sold to a Tui. Granted she isn't a new ship but she has never been a ferry.

It can be done but you need to keep your eyes peeled for offers. NCL, Princess and MSC all have, in recent years, done offers for 3rd and 4th people in a cabin which significantly reduces the prices of family cruises (but not to the level seen outside of school holidays). The offers are generally not available during summer holiday periods but we have taken advantage of NCL and Princess offers duing the Whitsun half term holidays.
With these types of cruises do you get an option to get off and spend some time at each of the stops or is it limited?

On this itinerary it appears each day you are in port you tend to arrive 7-8am and depart between 5-6pm so you have time to explore. The itinerary page of the cruise gives more details. No committment to do any of Tui excursions so you could do your own thing.

I can only ever remember Gloria hunniford doing wish you were here.
Looks awesome but sadly outside my price range. Fly cruises are a bit more demanding than hopping on and off at Southampton. Having said that if you have never been on a Cruise this would be an amazing experience.

Its not as formal as you might think and in fact most people on Cruises dress like lumberjacks for most of the time. Its only on the formal nights that its Tuxedo and Evening Dress (you can go to the Buffet if you dont want to dress up but you will be missing out on amazing food and the fun of dressing up of course). Absolutely loads to do and when you get to a port. You are usually there from 8.30am to 6pm. Plenty of time for exploring.

If you cant afford the above theres this amazing deal (£799 for 10 nights) on one of the most beautiful ships afloat , the Queen Victoria. You better be quick as this price is likely to go up to around £1100 from last years experience iglucruise.com/que…015e
If you want info on Tuxedos and formal trousers (M&S) just message me.

The Marella product is actually pretty good and with the main lines trying to overcharge you get good value

The transatlantic pricing is in the discount window loads to choose from and there seems to be a lot of availability could be more price drops.

Just priced up NCL Star, SJ suite AI for £2kpp 15 nights, Find a cheap flight its a good deal.

Just to add, if you have time to do the ferry from Road Town to Virgin Gorda (VG in BVI as the locals say)amd back then visit Spring Bay. It is just around the corner from the Baths (Which will be ramjammed with cruise passengers) and you can also walk around in 5 minutes to the Baths without having to pay.

It could well be the most beautiful beach I have ever been on. Huge granite boulders and swaying palms and crystal clear warm water, and just one other nice honeymooning couple when we visited. It is backed by a very small discreet resort hidden in the trees.

Don't tell anybody else though ;-)

Fair point, I was speaking figuratively tho rather than factually. Have you seen how TUI have refitted this once lovely ship? I've been on nicer Brittany Ferries. Can't knock the price but once you have tried Celebrity / Royal Carib / Princess you can't compare to this line

Unless there's something we specifically want to see or do, we always just get off and either walk into town or get a taxi, just to have a look around and at least you can then add that country to your 'been to' countries
