Great card for the price. Got an 8 and 16 gig of these and very fast transfer speeds.

Recommended !

fantastic price, had the class 6 version that has worked fine for over a year and a 1/2 but suddenly lost all the photos, but left the videos intact and the volume still shows the full 8gb. So it may well be me and not the card. is currently looking for a free reliable image recovery program.

Will buy this cos these cards are great, just need to back up photos more regularly.

There are some really bad reviews on Amazon with some Transcend cards failing and loosing photo's on them. Would pay the extra and stick with Sandisk or other good branded cards.
34 out of 260 odd reviews on a similar Transcend card mostly mentioning card failure

Ah jaysus don't be saying that now. I've just ordered one for the wife's Canon 550D.

I ordered one of these at the weekend for my 550d after reading reviews on dpreview, everyone recommending this card - bit gutted though as I paid about £27.99!

Really? Well that's good!

Not bad for a Class 10 16GB but beware it only has a 1 year warranty, as opposed to the Pro's choice Sandisk 16GB Extreme 30MB/s (Class 10) - which has a Limited lifetime warranty (In EMEA - 30 years).

Yes its probably better, then again its £50+ more expensive.

Even the Samsung deal (Class 6 and expired now) was a limited Llfetime warranty - with a data retention of 10yrs.

It's not that I'm paranoid or anything! (_;)

Not many free ones as data recovery is expensive business, you should try them out first and then decide if it recovers what you want and if the photo's are precious enough to purchase the software.
Art Plus Digital Photo Recovery get's good reviews, and also look at PhotoRescue.

I use the Sandisk RescuePro software that came free with my Sandisk Extreme card - shame Transcend don't supply, but you're getting what you pay for in the end...

Thanks Banzai, Yeah most of them are available on trial and only finds the missing pictures. but requires the user to purchase the activation key. Its scary how much data is on a 8gb card (more than 8gb) Just make you think twice about what people say about removing old harddrives before throwing old computers away (to prevent identity theft:| ). thanks for your help I'll have a look at these.;)

Try convar.de or use the link pcinspector.de/sma…e=1
this is freeware & has worked very well for me in the past. With regards to hard drives - I find dropping them onto concrete removes any possibility of anyone ever recovering the data!!

Bought 2 of these 8 gig cards last week they work in my TZ 7

This card was £17.99 at play yesterday
So this deal is ok but not as HOT as sandisk card...

dropping hard drives on concrete rarely damages the platters where all of the data is. Most data recovery firms with a clean room can retrieve data from just the platters as far as I know.

Class 10 versus class 6 Samsung and you say the Samsung is a better buy,you must be joking, when your video is juddering away with your class 6 you will wish you had the Trancend.20 MB/s v 17MB/s write speed. In the world of memory cards Trancend is a more respected name than Samsung.

Errm Samsung are the largest NAND Flash producers on the planet.
Transend is a small company, not sure where you are going with speed comment as the difference class 6 Vs 10 is slight burst mode only.

Anyway for the data recovery off USB transend offer this for their USB drives

transcendusa.com/Pro…asp

SD cards etc all mount as mass storage as to USB drives so the recovery of these unit should work.

i had to recover data from a failed sd this weekend - i used Photorec
cgsecurity.org/wik…Rec
it's open source and runs in a console window (no pretty GUI) but was quick and worked well.only one of the paid solutions showed anything to recover and took forever to run.

Yes that definitely works...but it will be pointless on the waterproof samsung card

Has anybody else had problems with this website recently?
I have tried on numerous occasions to purchase from them and every time it says it has been unsuccessful however my bank says they have took the payment on one occasion, on my memory it states I haven't ordered anything and I can't speak to anybody at their end as their customer service helpline doesn't connect to an advisor, please respond thanks
