Just for information I was following the price of this item and ordered it for £64.28 on Saturday - it was delivered to my son this morning. I checked the price today and it is down to £60.12. I contacted Amazon on live chat and they have given me a refund of £5 - great service from Amazon

This has been steadily dropping, good price!
The price of this is constantly fluctuating in the £60 - £70 range .. when i posted it at £61.55 im sure it crept upto £68 within 24hr .. heat added, still a good price..
Also don't know if its just the packaging but this one does not have a "High Endurance" Micro sd, but its still MLC with ECC.. Looks like a Transcend Ultimate 600x

I have used a Transcend 16GB 10 MLC HC card in this dashcam for about 2 years and have never had any problems with it (touch wood)

Just generally about dashcams if anyone is interested. Before I ordered this for my son on Saturday I called into Halfords to see if they had any deals. They only had Nextbase dashcams and some were reduced by 20%. I was chatting to the sales girl who told me that their deal with Nextbase expires in about 2 weeks time and from then on they will be also selling other makes of dashcam and are likely to have some good introductory offers.
58.25 now lol
58.17, what was that channel called on TV where they'd drop the price til everything was gone

Was it...

"Of course we pay men the same",
"Contract negotiations for females", or...

[ en.wikipedia.org/wik…rop ] ?
haha that's it - - - I'm sure someone from Amazon is trolling because its price has now dropped another 8p to £58.09 lololol

Make sure if you ordered it for 58.25 you complain to Amazon and get your 16p back!

These are good quality. I have had mine for 2 years without any issue. They capture very well at night also.

I second that, had mine much the same time no issues. Bought another a while back for my mum's car too.

Captures images clearly, WiFi connection is a bit iffy but only used it once.
this one wifi is not as good as yi dashcam

Which ones better image/video quality wise?
Does this have a standard camera screw hole? Curious if you can use it as a normal cam and mount it on a tripod.

No it doesn't - it uses a ball and socket type connector to mount on the bracket.
Maybe an action cam would be better for you.

But thinking about it, there are hundreds of different types of connectors nowadays for action cams - maybe one would hold the cam and then screw to tripod.

I've owned 2 drivepro 200 in past 2 years, the old version got the nearly the same video quality as the yi dashcam, but the newer version of drivepro is just rubbish, they seem improved their wifi connection, but the video quality got lowered(new version is the one has built in battery)

I would say get the yi dashcam, it beat every feature that this camera got.

I don't use the app - if I want to save recordings it is easy to just take the SD card out.

I have a small bracket that holds my mobile and has a tripod mount - I have just checked and it hold this dashcam fine.

I had one of these and whilst the camera quality was alright the app was AWFUL. I would avoid as hasn't been updated either. I got a yi dash cam from eBay for 40 quid to replace mine, miles better camera and the app is a dream in comparison

Yi. I've had both and using my yi now... Everything is better. The transcend app is what made me switch. It's utterly awful and they don't deserve a penny based on the app alone

Sold my transcend just because of the terrible app. Got 2 yi dashcams now.
I’ve had 2 of these in cars for a few years now with no problems. For a 3rd car I went for a different make and completely regret it - once the built in battery died the date wiped and it wouldn’t record properly (because there were always recordings ‘in the future’ and so it never overwrote them).

So I’ve just bought this at 57.37 to replace it. I don’t use the App so don’t mind it being pretty naff. I get good reliable recordings and that’s all I care about.
Not sure why everyone thinks this is a good deal? All you need to do is google the product and its miles cheaper elsewhere. You can but the same Cam with 16GB card for only £45 including delivery. I do like amazon but in this instance they have overinflated the price of the other products to make this look amazing!

It's nearly £10 cheaper than when I first ordered it on Saturday! I've had a £5 refund - not sure whether to ask for more?
Absolute bargain, had mine for over 3 years and paid much more for it.

All I can think of is that warehouse shelf space is limited and they’ve got more stock coming in soon. So they need to shift a certain number of them before that stock arrives. As soon as enough space is freed up the price will revert to normal again.
Should be down to fifty quid by end of tomorrow at this rate
