brilly's such a joker !

everytime I see a deal for an SD card I see brilly's comment :

Class 10 is good

Nice find..

Bought one last week at 720p - if only i'd waited.

Seems to have a fast write speed when filming HD on photo camera.

bought for 7.45 from same place a month ago :o(

Mine came today. Quite impressed

It's an in joke, based on another user who is a little short of brain cells.

Funnily enough there is such a device in existence, although it would cost a bit to import it:
ably.com.tw/pdt…ERS
ably.com.tw/mai…htm
PA-TFC1: SD to MicroSD / TF / T-Flash flexible adapter. Converts SD card to fit in Micro SD / Trans Flash socket, flexible 4 cm cable. Works with all kinds of WebPAD, mobile phone, APAD and eBook devices.

So basically it's flexible so as to remove the obvious risk of snapping. Wouldn't work obviously on anything that sits the microSD internally.

The poster isn't talking science fiction, but he should realise these are unusual devices and aren't going to come with SD cards as a standard feauture. MicroSDs are well priced these days, so there's no reason not to go the microSD > SD route if someone wants intercompatibility between devices!

Good price - just ordered two. Thanx.

Hot

But I'm after 32gb class 10. Doesn't seem to be any good deals around

seen loads of deals posted on this card lately ,
getting a few pence cheaper each time.
I reckon mymem and 7day are having their own price war

Good deal. Brought 1 thank you

Brilly isn't joking, he knows the adapter exists. The full size card doesn't actually fit into the micro-slot, although his phrasing implies that it does.

You might want to avoid replying to brilly on this subject. He likes to find what he calls "justification" for insulting people.

Cheap version readily available from another source:

I have not yet found an SD card that comes with one of these thrown in, but there is no reason to think that it can never happen.

Is this good for my Canon 500d?

Yes, its ideal.

I'm always amused to find different pricing on the sellers own website - and in this case it's actually a fair bit dearer [percentage wise] at £9.79.

mymemory.co.uk/SDH…10-

Odd, when I'm sure they must have to pay some fees to list as a marketplace seller I'd imagine....

[not the same picture, but I assume the same card OK ???]

Thank you ordered 2

Nicey Pricey

Error.

So most micro sd cards would come with an adapter so one can use the card conveniently in a reader as well as your your device...

... The other way round?
Well I didn't know they existed until now, and even though they do - the use limited somewhat. Regardless though, why on would one expect one to be included with an SDHC?!?!

That's a bit like buying a new car and expecting it to come with a fishing rod in case you decide to go fishing.

Solution is to buy car, then go to a fishing shop.
Rather than waiting for that elusive combo deal.

Analysis over.

Alternative.

I do have a very good friend who is a dab hand at making adapters bigger on the inside, then they are on the outside.

I could have a word?

Additional.

Ordered one.

Thanks OP

perfect for my recent Fujifilm AX250 buy :).

roughly how many photo's would I get on an 8gb card? even if I reduced to 8-10ish mp?

Blimey, that's the cheapest I've seen for a high performance branded 8GB SDHC class 10 card.

Hi Zer0, assuming a picture size of roughly 4Mb to 5Mb, you should be looking at around 1600 to 1800 photos before you fill the card - hopefully enough to keep you going for a while!

dont invest your money in crap memory, you ll regret it later

Wise words, but are you saying this is crap (which it isn't) so don't buy it, or buy this over cheap unbranded memory because its good???

He may be calling attention to some poor reviews of this particular card. I haven't investigated said reviews myself, only read mention of them in another thread (I think there was a link).

Terrible analogy. The link between a memory card and an adapter to use it in a different slot than the one for which it was made is much, much closer than cars and various hobbies that do not even require one. You have over-reached, making your analogy ludicrous instead of the much more sensible pairing you intended to lampoon.

Yes, I could buy the adapter separately, but it would cost money and involve an indeterminate wait (shipped from China). A free one would be nice, and make any of these memory card deals more attractive to me and a few others. You don't need to personally approve or sign off on such a deal, so it won't be any inconvenience to you. I don't really understand why people sceptical of the idea put themselves to the trouble of posting their speculations about it.

I've bought from deal extreme in the past, and generally items have arrived within 3 weeks. I think it likely to be your best option to just go ahead and buy the deal extreme SD > MicroSD adaptor, if you genuinely feel you'd be better off with a new full sized SD card, and an adaptor to make it work in a device that only accepts microSD cards.

I'm happy to be proven wrong, but I suspect you'll be waiting a long time for any SD card + SD>microSD adaptor offer - let alone a good deal on such an offer.

Bought 2 of these Thursday night, dispatched Friday (from Jersey), sitting on my doormat today (Monday.) Thanks OP.
