I had one, they aren't too far off the mark to be fair. I'd give it a kg either way on these. Went to Turkey and came close to the mark.
For a quid... bargain! Also in pound stretcher.

You can always calibrate with 4 bags of sugar.

cheers

I found them to be quite accurate. Also have a built in tape measure.
A fairer system would be the combined weight of the passenger and luggage :-)

These things are dangerous. Mine exploded at 15kg and the tape measure's like a razor blade.

Good price but not very accurate could be a costly mistake at the airport.

I've always had the same opinion until recently when I realised that means either larger folk will wear the same clothes everyday on holiday or walk around in a thong constantly.

not really a deal though cos they always have them and they are always £1

Yep I had an exploding one too, it also revealed a sticker underneath with a fishing company on.

i brought these before! they are not accurate and they break so easily!! it worth spending a few more quid on a digital one!!

For the people who don't normally know the whole stock list of Poundland then it's a deal, as else where these are a few quid.
You could always compare the £1 initial outlay to the £8 a KG saving if you get caught out.

Shame mine exploded last time I went to Florida as it could have saved me $120 on the way back.

Don't buy one of these. It is cheap but the needle from the dial actually fell off of mine rendering the whole thing useless. Spend about £10 and get a proper one from amazon. I have THIS one but they don't sell it anymore. If you just type luggage scale into amazon and buy the one with the best reviews you should be fine. There is one for £8.

A good luggage scale and a cabinmax backpack can more than pay for themselves on 1 holiday with a budget airline.

Agreed, the Duronic brand ones are also very good, well made, accurate and 'should' last a lifetime.

I've got one of the luggage scales, its got more inaccurate over time but can't be argued at for £1.

I have seen one of them in poundshop, but to be honest i dont think they are strong enough to hold any weight. They are a bit of plastic and looks like toy type.

IMHO it's worth splashing a little more for something a lot more reliable - I had one of these that was about 0.5 Kg off zero, but with a 15 Kg load it reads anywhere between 11-23 Kg, i'm sure i must have just been unlucky, but i'd rather fork out a couple of quid extra rather than risk the damage at check-in.

Their other travel range is worth a look though, even for spare locks that i always seem to have to buy on every trip - damn tiny keys

"...brought..." ! X)

Bought one last year, it was rubbish, felt as if it was going to snap. In the end I weighed myself on the normal scales, then weighed myself holding the suitcase and calculated the difference. You may need help as it can be quite difficult to read the numbers holding onto a large suitcase.
