Found these at my local Poundland at Exeter - Travel Luggage Weighing Scales for a pound. I remember a similar looking scale with a hook being sold for £4 at ministry of deals last week.

Max Weight = 50lb

WOW just noticed there is a measuring tape at the bottom as well.
Looks sturdy and well packaged.

Looks exactly the same as the pic attached..except the label

Thanks for that I'll check my local Poundland tomorrow.

Bought one at the weekend. Very handy!!

Very poor accuracy on these and will cost you dear in excess luggage charges at the airport. Bought 2 sets a month ago and neither weighed anywhere near each other an were nearly 3 kilo's below what the airport scales were reading. Lucky we had paid for an extra 5 kilo's allowance in advance.

yes be careful of inaccurate scale -even the bath scales was better

Well these should be good for getting an idea if your luggage is nearing the 22-23kg mark...bathroom scales can be a bit misleading at times with larger suitcases/bags

Surely you can (and would) test them!
On hol soon so might try them.

these look terrible quality, thought better of buying today.

spent my pound on strawberry milk bottles instead

Warning!: Don't attach any heavy objects to the hook thingy at the bottom :-D

I used a set of these for weighing my bikes. Good to have an idea of what they weigh.

Seen something similar to this in Home Bargains for 99p if you don't have a Poundland nearby.

Does everything weigh 1lb too?!

I can't comment on this particular model - but buy a good set and you will see the return within 2 Ryan Air flights!!

No Heat - No Cold, common sense prevails on you get you what you pay pay for.

is this any good for weighing babies?

Think you'll find it's the airport scales that are out :-D

Same thing was £3.99 at TJ Hughes. At least you haven't wasted too much if it's rubbish. Agree it would be wise to check readings before pushing the luggage limit though!

Why are bathroom scales misleading? I get on scales myself and then get on scales with the case, the difference is the case weight, I cant see how that is misleading

I bought one of these for £1.99 from a petrol station just before we went on holiday. Saved us no end of hassle at the airport. We only take one suitcase for the two of us, and then chuck everything else into hand luggage. Last year we where 2kg over and had to go to the back of the queue and shift a load of stuff to the hand luggage. This year we used this to check first and didnt have any problems. Yeah you wouldnt use it for weighing anything where you needed to be accurate, but it was good enough for us (scale said just under 20kg, airport weighed it as 19.5kg).

You need to keep the case perpendicular (i.e. above your head) on scale and not to one side to get accurate reading.

Not funny. At all

lighten up you clown, he was speaking to me and i did fin it funny.

"Travel Luggage Weighing Scale £1 at Poundland 50lb"

So the scales weigh 50lbs

Thats pretty heavy, best not pack them they will cost a fortune to lug around!

Why should that make a difference?

Bought a similar looking set of these from B&M for £1.99. They indicated that my bag weighed exactly 15kg, Ryanair check in scales said...exactly 15kg!

Best £1.99 I've spent in a while, especially as the couple in front got charged £82 excess:roll:

why not weigh yourself on the bathroom scales
then hold your bag and get back on and do the maths

I didn't realise that if you stood on bathroom scales you need the case on your head but I'll do that next time.

If these are accurate then it's a good deal from Poundland but if they are kilos out then it could cost you dearly when you get to the airport.

p.s. And of course are bathroom scales accurate ????

wow added heat and rep!

wow. best deal this week.

been doing this for a century.

just get on, weigh yourself.
get on with bag, weigh yourself.
minus yourself.

Good deal thx! With 1 meter tape.

After reading the posts, I had to comment, this scale from Poundland is actually very well packaged, doesn't look like its from Poundland, I weighed a 5kg onion bag and a 10kg flour bag and its quite accurate.
Great for a pound...

Same as a set of fishing scales, so could be used for weighing fish catches as well - which is also the reason behind the tape measure I believe - good deal though, voted hot

The tape measure is there for hand luggage/suitcase size restrictions one would have thought.

No - they are actually designed as fishing scales.
I bought a set from argos a couple of years ago and they gave me the wrong item ( it was the same scales -but also came with a carp carrying bag to use with the scales). This is a great price because they are £5.99 in argos.

I have since bought one of the digital scales from dealextreme . These are much more accurate and easy to use if you are going to use them regularly.
