Starbucks are promoting on using reusable cups at the moment.

As a result there large travel mugs are only £1 in store

In addition when you go in you get 30p off your coffee each time you go and get it refilled.

Normal price at my local. 25p back though per use. So it seems like this varies.
Do they wash the cup for you? Serious question. Seems impractical to carry round an unsealable cup with coffee dregs in it. I realise it’s good for the envt tho.

Just use your own mug, who wants to be seen drinking a Starbucks crappuccino?

They are known to stop sealing after a while when washed in a dishwasher.

Costa
its 25p off
I used it everyday to hold the coffee. Best travel cup I have ever bought.
I'm not carrying a mug around with me. The manufacturers can find a way of making things 100% recyclable!

I’ve had mine for 5 years and it’s still as good as the day I bought it. I wash it by hand, they are not meant to go in a dishwasher.

It's ok saying that, but it's also changing people's way of thinking that's important. If you have something that's 100% recyclable, but then it's being thrown in general waste, it's a waste of time.

They always wash mine out for me - my cup lives in the car so I have no chance to rinse it myself. I’m a convert.

Ive been recycling long before it was fashionable or before councils forced it on us. But I'm still not wandering about with a foot long plastic cup

Seeing as I wander around with my own bags for life so that I don't have to keep paying 5p or 10p for a new one every time I'm shopping I just keep my cup in my shopping bag.

I can fold a couple of bags completely flat, in back pocket, takes up zero space

Each to their own, but even if they did, surely a reusable mug is better than all of the processes involved with creating a single use cup and then recycling it into another single use cup?!
there’s still loads of energy used in the recycling process then in the remanufacturing so single use items are not just about landfill but
wasted raw materials/ water/energy used - reusable is surely a no brainier? a reboot of the way we consume is hopefully happening
This is not fair for someone who always order venti!

1st world problems, eh?
So they take 25p off if you have a reusable mug? Can you take your own?
This coffee craze really is out of control isn't it?

Does anyone remember when you could go for a pint at lunchtime?

Reducing the use of such products is the first step, Re-use is the second if reduction is not possible. Recycling comes last. We are eliminating recyclable cups at work as well, have given every person their own ceramic mug.

Wash the cup out ??, i dont bother. I have a solid plastic travel cup that i have had for years and just wash it out every now+then, good for the enviroment because i save on water and it adds to the flavour ! .
