This is my first one :P (post).

Looking for flights to South-east Asia using the regular flight scanners I discovered couple of good deals with Air China. Then, using their Multi-City booking option I discovered that I can fly from London to Bangkok, Singapore or Kuala Lumpur via Beijing for less than 350 quid return (you can try other cities/countries too).

The part that I like is that you can actually stay in Beijing if you want and visit it for couple of days and then have your flight to your destination (You don't need NO VISA if you stay less than 72 hours each time you are in Beijing). If you don't want to visit Beijing you can just change your flight there. So you can do for example: London - Beijing, Beijing - Singapore, Singapore-Beijing and Beijing-London.

Playing around more with the Multi-City options I discovered that you don't even need to come back from the same airport. So you can book London-Beijing, Beijing-Singapore, Bangkok-Beijing, Beijing-London all for the same price as before. The dates that I chose are random dates from November (when the season starts...) and most of the times I got the same price. (Found the same price for sometime in September but that period is very rainy; Didn't search on any other months).

For me is an amazing deal and is a nice trick given that if I choose a return trip to Beijing on the same website is almost 700 quid.

Air China is the national air company of China but the reviews about them are mixed when it comes to the quality services they provide so do your own research before booking. For me is still a good deal so I booked my tickets.

I hope this is useful to someone.

Screenshot with simulating bookings for random dates in November. NO VISA needed in this case as the time spent each time in Beijing is less than 72 hours: http://i58.tinypic.com/21ynev.png

Sorry. I forgot to mention that you have to stay less than 72 hours in Beijing so that you don't have to pay for a VISA. I will stay 2 days and a half on my way on 2 days on the return. I have updated the add and the screenshot.

Hot, normally return to China is over£600

where have you seen that as normal last time? For the last 3 years £200-400 was the norm for me £600 is Business class via Transaero..
Air China is the worst of all, from services, food, aircraft .... very small leg room, rude stewardess, horrible food, can not ask for extra juices....AVOID at all costs. No one flies them for the second time, that is why all tickets still there, and reduced significantly!!! You go through hell with Air China!
Hot, heat added
I'm wondering if Bangkok bombing and China's crash means reduced prices all around. There is always some good that comes from bad (discuss).
