Nothing to get your teeth into here... "extra special rates"....

COLD for me based on a serious lack of detail.

this was on MSE

Urgent. Travelex 1-HOUR flash sale
The giant bureau's tipped us off it'll boost online euro, dollar & other rates, incl for airport pick-up

If you're heading off for a bit of winter sun or ski, Travelex is boosting online rates with three flash sales this week.

I am always very wary when I see currency sales. Buying currency is misleading at the best of times as spreads vary quite considerably between vendors. The worst is the "No commission" con with a spread so large it envelops any commission saving and ends up costing more than the next best with commission, and your still none the wiser.

Best use the MSE Travel Money Maximiser as it's still possibly these 'sales' can be beaten by some simple comparison of the rates currently available.

Also rates are changing all the time so if the Euro implodes then they may be giving them away soon.

Cold for me.

Last time I nipped to Poland, I forgot the zloty I keep at home. Tried to change up £20 at liverpool airport and it worked out bad. So bad in fact, that waited and used a cash machine at Balice JP2 airport.

Corrected for you.

They had a blitz sale on Wed and Thurs and they were awful deals. Nowhere near as they were hyped up to be!

Corrected for you.

Too true. I was trying to perpetuate the rhetoric being banded around by Germany et al. Maybe if the eurozone close their eyes and make a wish santa will make all their problems go away. Then again, maybe not.

Cold on the basis of zero details offered by therm -- if they listed the rates in advance which they could do it would be worth me going into store and doing it.

I have gone on the Travelex site when they have previously had flash sales and they were rubbish . I think the us dollar went up by 1 cent

Same here! If that's a happy hour I'd rather stay down the pub!
