A couple of years ago I stayed in a virtually brand new Travelodge with brand new beds . I have to say it was extremely comfortable . Still doesn't make up for having that advert running through my head though

Kiss my face.

oO
we have one of these mattresses they are so comfortable ,worth every penny
Make sure you don't have a "dirty protest".
Title a bit misleading. £289 is the single mattress, not a bed

Have to vouch for the comfort, having stayed in Travelodge for work a dozen times this year - this is a good bed.

I was worried by the sign above it last time "You could be sleeping on this bed at home in 7 days".. No thanks, I'll buy a new one
I have used the family room in Travelodge a few times now, and I agree the bed is really comfortable. However, I don't understand why they don't make the other beds in the family room to the same standard. The first time that my family used one of these rooms, we thought that they had forgotten to put mattresses on the single beds! Their other beds in the family room are ridiculously uncomfortable - ok perhaps if you have a young child, but if you are taking teenagers with you, the beds are definitely not suitable/comfortable enough.

I work in a Travelodge and i agree
Is this not the normal price for them ???

I brought mine when they had a 10% promotion and got the king size mattress for £404.10.

950 pocket springs in a king size mattress for £449 isn't so great.

What's travelodges view on the pedestrianisation of Norwich City centre?
Genuinely puzzled. Why would anyone think that a bed used by Travelodge (with the mattress certainly replaced every few months) is worthy of special consideration for home, as against any other bed?
Hated the bed at the last travellodge I went to. No thanks...

How is this a "deal"? Available all year round, and sometimes reduced below this basic price.

I don't want to end up living like some bloody tramp in a lay-by
Agree that whilst the main bed in the Travelodge is comfortable the single beds are terrible stayed in Travelodge before xmas1915 with two teenage grandchildren they complained most of the nights we were there, apart from that the rooms very basic and bathrooms could certainly do with uplift no home comforts here. Haven't stayed in Premier Inn but have heard are much better

Probably so when you're away you won't feel the difference , it'll be just like home away from home but with the added bonus of a mistress on a mattress.
This type of deal was previously on HUKD, someone said that the mattress on this deal is not the same design was the real Travelodge ones. More research needed.

So does primark, Nike, adidas, bic pens, pampers nappy, next. U gonna throw all that stuff out?
Or put ur used clothes in the charity to give them back to the same people who made them. They might just see that as an added insult.

Knowledge affords you choices if these things matter to you beyond sheer price.

I started posting a reply here about a mattress I bought after looking at this as an option, but then decided to turn it into a new deal: hotukdeals.com/dea…968

EDIT: oh, well that was a total waste of time writing out that post, it got removed because "Thank you for your post, I'm sorry but Unfortunately the website you recommended is not currently suitable for Hotukdeals"... No wonder I couldn't find a decent mattress deal on HUKD when I was searching, because they remove them!

Anyway, the mattress I went for was this: mattresstomorrow.co.uk/sil…ess

A key point in choosing that one is that it's double sided, when most mattresses these days are no-turn.

I can't agree with you more
So are our normal home beds inferior to beds made for hotels? Sounds like a conspiracy of home beds being made of poorer quality yet charged at high prices

But they're not charged at high prices. The 'list' prices may be high, but nobody in their right mind pays anywhere near list. Discounts of 50% are easily obtainable.

Hotel beds are no different from any other beds - except that they get changed more frequently and don't therefore need to last as long.

Well they should bloody well use springs and memory foam like the other large manufacturers, I bet the slaves kick up a right pong after a few months use.
