If everyone took this further with authorities, they’d be closed ages ago. Just see their latest feedback on Trustpilot and other rating sites, it’s a joke!

Good luck. You’re dealing with a guy calls himself Sam Ozy!!! But clearly he’s not and surely he’s running this business from his bedroom!

Their customer service is shocking poor as well, I emailed them following their website with no reply, then called customer service and they just keep saying I emailed the wrong address. They even hanged up the phone when I ask them to check my query on phone. Very poor, regarding to holding the money, I did heard a lot of travel agency do that as well. So lesson learn, I will book with the airline direct in future.

ninjin

I fly a lot and have booked through travel up a few times. I've never had any problem until now. My wife had a problem when they sold a ticket but had no seat. Took ages to get the money back. So just be aware that if there is anything to do with refund, it will be a night mare. I've got a flight booked via them in CX for march 23rd to HK and ask them to amend the date, as CX are allowing this due to the covid19 but no reply.

masliya

Don’t deal with TravelUp, they’re thieves. They’ve stolen our money and despite the airline refunded them for the flights cancelled due to coronavirus, they’re holding on to our money. Read their latest bad reviews. They’ve been recently ripping people off.

Used travel up last year when I booked Virgin/Delta flights to Vancouver, within a few days of booking they showed up on the Virgin/Delta websites when I logged on! The flight times kept changing too much for my liking, so I asked travel up if we could amend our return to include a delay in returning from layover in Seattle for a few days and they contacted Delta and they agreed, we only paid £260 return in the first place, so for me it worked a treat:) )) keep travelling guys (y) Am currently in Seoul and there are very few tourists around!!

Thanks for the discount code - worked on their website for a completely different flight. Not worried about issues with ticketing as I've gone with a reputable airline, with whom I can verify the ticket, if needed

racydolphin

I have used them a few times on flights to Singapore and Japan without any issues. They usually provide the booking reference for the agent (themself) and an airline reference that you can log in through airline's website. However if any changes to your flight needs to be made, you have to go back to them as airline won't deal with bookings made through an agent.

Just back from 10 days in Orlando....I had to send 4 meals back for various reasons on this trip. And this wasnt at cheap eateries either. It was mainly for the meals coming out cold/warm instead of hot..but also steaks coming out Medium rare when I ordered well done. Seemed to be a recurring theme on the holiday. More a case of understaffed so meals are left on the side to be sent to the relevant tables...and lack of communication with the kitchen. The more expensive the restaurant the worse it seemed to be.....Maggianos and the expensive Disney restaurants seemed worse. Actually the hottest and best service meal we had was at a fast food joint and the cheapest meal for the holiday! So.....you think it's fine to tip compulsory when youve had to send a $40 main course back because it came out cold twice in a row? You think its fine to tip 20% when your $45 dollar steak comes out rare when you specified it to be well done? In America I always tip 15 to 20% as long as the service and food are acceptable...but sorry, when in paying $45 for a main course and it comes out cold twice or isnt cooked as requested then no, I downright will not tip. It is probably the whole reason why service levels have gone downhill in the last few years I've been visiting the states as they know mugs will tip them regardless, so why would they need to keep high levels of service?

shawty1984

If they are willing to be doing that, they shouldn't be working with food, never mind expecting a tip.

urbanlegend11

I'm yet to have bad service in the US. If i have bad service in UK I will not tip.

urbanlegend11

Oh that's cool they definitely won't spit in your food then if they are on minimum wage and you don't tip them then even though its expected.....

africanspeed

Lol! Correct Everyone should be paid a fair wage for a honest job... I bet the employer isn't living on tips from the government to prop up his profits?? This is just wrong! Just pay people who do honest work for you...Can't be that hard

11 hours in economy is pretty brutal However, on some of these routes the new Airbus A350 is in operation, which is said to provide a slightly more enhanced experience than the older planes Nevertheless, these are some good prices for a carrier that is rated highly and includes meals and drinks To those who will inevitably moan about the lack of checked baggage, you'd be surprised how much you can fit in a cabin suitcase if you pack efficiently

MungoSplodge

Thats good to know, i was there 10 years ago and some of my family stayed there. It is in a great location thats for sure.

black.knight

That would be Hooters (apart from the waitresses). Excalibur was completely refurbished about 5 years ago, the rooms are fine. You wouldn't eat there or see a show but the rooms and location are fine for a cheap break. EDIT - the pool is also fine there although won't be open in January.

MungoSplodge

The Excalibur hotel is pretty dire. Easily the worst hotel that end of the strip.

black.knight

That's not what you said. The deal is the deal and if you increase the duration or take two trips, you wouldn't get it for that price. 2 trips in January would still not be brilliant given the pools being shut and temperatures in both Vegas and NY.

Id recommend flying via Dublin if you can with Aer Lingus. You do the US immigration bit at Dublin so you can quickly breeze through when you arrive at JFK (which is a terrible airport).

These are good prices, although they are via Brussels with a two hour stop-over, making the total flight time around 11hrs. They seem to fly United Airlines into JFK and out of LaGuardia, which isn’t a problem either. On a budget, this is the way to go.

rachelandgromit

Also, you can look for cheap car hire and then use a company to cover the excess such as www.insurance4carhire.com or similar. I've never driven in the USA so I'm sure other people may have some good advice too such as imskeen.

Bula_vinaka

Technically It isn't. It depends where / who you rent it from and what insurance options you choose on the day. As with ANY car hire policy, anywhere. If you're looking for full cover and a great price anywhere in Florida, This link for car hire will normally be the cheapest of all vendors with total cover and FREE extra drivers. https://www.alamo.co.uk/partners/members/brits/

Bula_vinaka

I'm sorry but the part re: Car Hire being more expensive is NOT TRUE. Using Alamo Brits code with CDW and Zero Excess 14 days hire is $385 (286 Pounds) from either Airport. Yes - Obviously, the extra mileage will likely cost you $40 each way. But Factor it in with a few stop overs on route and you're quids in.
