Trend routers are rubbish, go Makita.

The Trend T10 and T11 or the DeWalt 625 is considered the best by most people. These are all £250+ though. The T7 will suffice for my DIY needs for now.

I've not used a Makita router but I agree the drill driver, impact driver, circular saw, multitool are excellent.
Is this better than a Palm Router

Depends on the task. This will be better when there is a lot to cut, or if you have 1/2" bits, or just larger 1/4" bits, but a palm router would be handier for roundovers, some other edge profiling, maybe working in small, restricted areas, or where the router is held awkwardly, where access is an issue or possibly when using 1/4" bits (even though the trend has a reducer). I'd describe them as very different, and extreme tools, despite their obvious similar identical functions.

The Trend bits are the best there are, the routers are rubbish, as considered by all in the trade, DeWalt and Mak are the best routers to go for. DIY think that Trend routers are the best, they're not.
