Distilled or deionized water is commonly used to top up the lead-acid batteries used in cars and trucks and for other applications. The presence of foreign ions commonly found in tap water will drastically shorten the lifespan of a lead-acid battery. ... Purified water is used in freshwater and marine aquariums.
Thanks for posting as I need some for my iron, heat added

Also good in egg hatching, when using a brooder.
Boiling a kettle and letting the water cool down does the same thing.

Nope. Unless your kettle collects the water and condenses into a sterile container, I'd argue that water from the tap has less impurties then boiled water, your just wearing you battery out quicker by even putting anything of the sort in, just spent £1.60 and get stuff that's already gone through the process.
sainsburys do a 2.5ltr carplan one for £1 if you do not need 5ltr check your local sainsbury next time you go in for stock - sainsburys.co.uk/web…ltr

Been posted at this price loads of times - I know because I've bought before
Proven Myth
Couldn't you just use cheap bottled spring water for an iron or kettle ? They're about 19p for 2 litres in Aldi!!
spring water has lots of minerals in. really bad idea. u can use water from condensing tumble dryer...definately in ur iron or steam mop not sure I'd use it car battery though!
Aren't most car batteries sealed though these days, limited use for this, except in irons, though using it for ironing does make ironing quite expensive, prefer to iron stuff damp.

So this is Nigel Farage approved water then.
