I was looking for a holiday suitcase as the argos £11 was too tall (due to the wheels) for ryanair, spotted this on the tripp website and it seems a good price for a quality suitcase. I've checked it against Ryanair, Easyjet, Flybe, BMIbaby and BA this is small enough to meet their restrictions. You need to spend £50 to get free delivery, there are plenty of other discounted cases so maybe get some hold luggage while you're at it, only downside (if it bothers you) is its only available in bright red!

170 in stock when I ordered.

Good one. Was looking for a case that would meet Ryan Air's requirements!

I have some of these and you will be surprised how much you can get in them and how light they are ideal on bmibaby too

thanks, have checked BA and updated post to show bmi and BA.

I have a similar one from Tripp (bought for a Flybe flight) and it's excellent. I think I paid £35 for mine. They usually come with a pretty good guarantee, depending on which grade of case you've bought.

Tesco do one aswell under £15 in store in black and pink and have flown with Ryanair with one so i know there ok

Ikea also do one for about 8 quid, but probably not as sturdy as this one.

That is one heavy bag for it's size. When you only have a 5kg cabin allowance (which you do with a lot of airlines) that only leaves 2kg for your stuff.

I have never had my hand luggage weighed? I know they all quote allowances for it, but didn't think they actually weighed it. You could just leave half your stuff from hand luggage in the car or summat and then after you check in go and fill it right up again.

Cabin allowance with ryaniar is 10kg and they dont check the weight anyway and them at tesco are about 2.5kg

BTW I voted hot, but fake "WAS" prices from Debenhams and Tripp really pee me off

At Glasgow Prestwick they have started weighing all hand luggage before you are allowed past the online check-in desk. They even mark your on line check-in paper to say it has been checked. You are also not allowed to carry a handbag as well as the case, strictly one piece of luggage each- same at Dublin International.

all no frills flights are cracking down on hand luggage sizes and weights but you will be surprised how much you can get in only draw back is the liquids unders 100ml ruling. We went on a flight from East Midlands to Edinburgh with BMI baby and they kept saying over the tanoy aboiut only one piece of hand luggage size blah blah and weight blah blah. There was a lot of red faces when some people tried to board with a carrier back a large handbag and a suitcase whiuch they thought was the right size! oops! They charge a small fortune to put stuff in the hold now £24! Doesn't make it a cheap flight anymore.

So beware and I'm sure they wouldn't mind if you were slightly over but taking the 'whats it called' isn't going to get you anywhere!

Not to be pedantic but "Ryan Air" and "Ryanair" are two completely different airlines... though we know who you meant.

As mentioned this is quite heavy for a small case. I have some ultra light weight plasticy carbon fiberesk one, which only weighs about 2KG. Excellent for cabin luggage, it was just expensive.

These little ones might be cheap, but if you plan on using it for cabin luggage, you need to keep an eye on the weight.

They had them in their Crawley branch last week, but I can't find them on the website. They looked quite good for the money.

I have - with Virgin Atlantic and they insisted I remove items to comply.

I hate it on budget airlines when people spend 15minutes stashing their oversized 'hand luggage' into the lockers, crushing my laptop bag.

If you're putting clothes in it it should go in the hold! It might save you a fiver by taking it all onboard but it is a bit rude.

The idea of the cabin size suitcase is to put clothes in so if your on a long weekend or an overnight stay you take just what you need in a small case/holdall and take on board and no need to wait 30 min for your suitcase to come off the conveyor belt! More time to enjoy and annoy people with laptops! LOL Plus saves around £25 as you don't have to check in you can do it on line and arrive arround 30 mins before boarding less time hanging around at the airport.
I am going to stay rude and still take my suitcase on board as most people do!!!

Ditto. It annoys me when people bring on cases that are blatantly too big....but proper size ones shouldn't be an issue.

I've just bought one of these to replace the one from a set that is currently in Russia after BMI delayed it (I'd checked it in). Got a few weekends away coming up with some low cost airlines and this will be perfect for all the reasons kazh1969 has stated.

Did consider buying this or a light-weight one from Debenhams with 15% off and free delivery but it seems they don't always honour the codes.

This is a great deal Ive booked a short break with Ryanair and this wud be perfect for my hand luggage! The only other problem I have is buying a cheap stroller when I get to France as I forgot my son will need his stroller when we get their and pushchairs need to be checked in! Its cheaper to but a cheap one and leave it there rather than pay £28 per person (theres 5 of us) to check a pushchair in!!!!

They do at Dusseldorf Weeze Airport :x

Top Tip - when travelling with Ryanair etc - fly with a very large jacket and stuff anything heavy in the pockets

They weigh at Hamburg (Lübeck) too just before you go through to security.

I've used the Argos suitcase on Ryanair with no problems and saw quite a few other people with the same case on the flight too!

got mine through today, its nice and compact, (top quality too, well chuffed!), wont be a squeeze - and it saves £15 not £5 also saves time at checkin and leaving the airport.

Ordered at 9:26 am yesterday and it has just been delivered.

Mine seems to have arrived with 2 keys but no padlock(s). Are they hiding somewhere?

Mine were attached to the main compartment zips (not great padlocks though! Tesco were doing three for a pound in their bargain bins last time I was in there)

Worth mentioning that it is not a bright scarlet, but a more subdued darker red, pretty close to the colour of the paper poppy appeal poppies.

I wouldn't bother with padlocks if they are going to nick your case or whats in it they will find a way and a padlock wont deter them, We use tie wraps on our big cases but otherwise wouldn't bother especially if you have to get in it quick! lol And remember to pack your undies in a plastic bag wouldn't want them falling out by accident!! X

I sent them an email to let them no it arrived without a padlock. They gave me a call a bit later to say they'd put a lock & keys in the post.

Is it me? I cannot find these.
Have they dropped this?
