This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:

It's 1699 with just the code. There's an extra 100quid through Quidco cashback. This has the 9th gen i7 and 2x512 ssd. There are others slightly cheaper with the 8th gen copy and or only one drive. This is quite a hard unit to upgrade unfortunately. So not a simple purchase and plug in if you get a single drive unit. If you buy through the Acer store you also get the overpriced backpack £99 a headset (unsure on value) and gaming mouse £29.99 aswell as a 3 year warranty. It's the best price for this exact model I've found online without the cashback and a better deal than most of the 2060 specced versions and with the cashback it's a much better deal than even the cheaper prices offerings of the i7 2060.

Edit: confirmed £100 cashback. Not sure how it calculated that as 7% even without the vat but that's what has tracked

Why is this cold?
I'm considering a gaming laptop.
But I don't want it to be a "max q" one, because from what I read they don't perform as well as their non max q equivalents.

They don't that's true. But in most gaming laptops you will get max q versions of the 2070 and 2080. The 2060 is a full card in the Triton series and is probably the best bang for buck of the three cards. However from all my shopping around since Black Friday this is the best deal overall. On black Friday the 2060 version did go as low as 1400 on one store though. That said the max q versions still perform better than the 2060 and are more energy efficient. I don't think I've seen full cards in thin and light laptops like this one. If you want the cheapest and best overall performance then the Helios 300 series is cheaper but they are a bit bigger and use more plastic.

Thank you I will look into the Helios series.

Basically I am not worried about portability.
I want the most powerful version of the GPU, probably a 2070 from what I have read so far.
I don't mind if it has huge loud fans on it and is big and chunky.

I would like to get good VR performance primarily.
It's a good price for a RTX 2070, 16gb ram & 1tb of ssd storage

I think so I've spent months looking for a good performing non throttling laptop in the thin category. If anyone voting cold knows of better deals in the same category please post them. I'd happily refund mine and get another deal.

It would be nice if people would just leave a comment when they vote cold, just to share the reason why.

For all I know it could just be people who think why is it expensive because you can buy a laptop for £150 these days

Yeh helps everyone out. My friend said he got a Dell g7 17inch quite cheap on black Friday. You may want to keep an eye on those if you don't mind the size. He said he got it for 1200 so it might hit that again soon on another sale. Roughly same spec.

Thanks I'll research that too
Dell use almost exclusively maxQ apart from the Area51m which is ridiculously pricy
