I have a TRITON already with 10 troule free years of usage so far....
Cost me £80 back then.

Considering most DIYs are retailing at around £80-£100 for a 9.5kW this a stonker of a price.

3% quidco too?

Good deal and worth a punt just make sure you check your cable rating to your bathroom as these require extra thick cable to power them and can only be installed DIY if its like for like i.e you are replacing a 9.5kw shower with it.
This is a good deal. I'm only offering some free advise so you don't come unstuck after buying it

You should have 10mm cable from your breaker board to the shower and the cable length should be no more than 35 metres and a circuit breaker of 50 Amps, hope this helps someone.

Triton arn't that good for showers, best save your money and get a Mira sport for £100 more.

Soft water area then:thumbsup:

triton and mira are about the same - my last mira sport shower lasted 5 years. i replaced it with a triton which was not working out the box!!

After the triton guy came (under warranty) it has been fine so far (touch wood)

this is a good price for triton though.

yes - its a good price

However, I live in a hard water area and found, with three showering each day, the most I could expect was three years life and was continuously cleaning out residue in the shower head.

The kettle in the mira is different and doesn't erode in the same way. I'm hoping for longer life - we'll see. I'll try and report back in a few years!!

Regards

utter rubbish! Had two tritons in two houses, Both were still working perfectly when I moved houses after 5+ years daily use (hard water area)

Cracking deal for anyone who needs a new shower.

The wiring point is a good point, we bought a 10.5kw from B&Q on offer (posted here) then had to have an extra cable taken from the ELCB, and the bathroom is on the opposit side of the house, this cable now needs chasing into our bedroom wall, filling and the wall redecorating....not a cheap job by the end!
Voted Hot.

Good spot.

They also have a similar 8.5kW Triton shower for 45 quid which is a bit easier in terms of supply cable size:-

Having lived in very hard water areas all my life the majority of showers I've used have been Triton and lasted 6 years plus. hot from me.

Heat added - bought pretty much the same if not same model for £56.72 from B&Q in Christmas sales time and thought that price couldnt be beaten.

Ordered one, heat and rep' added. Thank You.

£56 at Asda Direct if they run out here.

Cheers for the heads up! Now I can have a shower and it doesn;t trickle because of the low water pressure in my house! woo hoo! now, to find a sparky....

I don't have a shower at the minute. If I bought one of these, do you reckon it'd be expensive for a plumber to install it all?

It depends totally on how much work is involved; if the required water piping is a short easy run then all well and good. As already pointed out up thread the electrical cabling can get expensive ( 100quid plus) if a long run from the consumer unit ( via a dedicated breaker IIRC) to the shower cut off switch of the required thick cable is needed. So it could easily cost 200 quid to fit if the job is fiddly.

Thats true but the Mira is a superb shower and is the only electric shower I'd recommend.
Don't get me wrong Triton used to make vary good showers years ago.
I put a new Triton in my sisters five or so years ago, lasted 20 months, stuck a Mira sport in as a replacement and it hasn't missed a beat. FACT.

I bought this shower, fitted it fine, switched it on and it instantly blew up.
Went to B&Q, bought a Mira at £129 (was £189), fitted it, perfect. Will never buy another Triton, my previous one was Triton too, which broke in 18 months.
