You need 10mm electrical cable to connect this don't you? Might be worth noting for those people with 6mm cable.

Depends on the length of the run too, I believe. Plus being in the bathroom you aren't allowed to DIY because of Part P regulations. Still a good price though.

Depends on where the cable is routed (maybe going through insulation in loft or walls etc), in general upto 9kw can use 6mm as long as the shower is within 18 metres of the fuseboard. Should only be installed by a spark anyway.
Bargain - yes.
Attractive - er......
Top of the pops! HEAT

Good deal with discount code as suggested by Stewfor1
I assume I would need a plumber to fit this ??

I like to leave plumbing to the experts, would it be expensive to fit ?
OOS:(

Seriously? In the UK I cannot DIY in MY OWN bathroom, I cannot connect my own shower to my own electrical and water installation, and hang that on my own wall above my own bathtube?
Is that any better/safer than hiring person, who should, but not necessarily even do, understand what electricity is, and how to drill a hole in a wall properly?

Beware these cheap showers.
In my opinion, you'd be better off installing a better one for twice/three times the price.

Yes, seriously. But you underestimate how many idiots there are that don't know how to wire a plug but would try to fit this.

That person you're hiring has to be qualified to do the installation, much like you need a Gas Safe registered person to mess with gas.

Thanks, I just thought that as this deal is still active, then this one is a duplication of the original live deal?

Seems strange that 'any' deal can be reposted the following month.

I believe _some_ of those people pass qualification exams and forgot everything they learned next day - because I've already saw couple installations made in so dangerous way, that teenager who catches up DIY from his father could do it better. But never mind, my point is that its my own bathroom, im the only person bathing there, and im the only person taking possible risk of installation malfunction. Its simply not fair to disallow me that

Eurgh my Landlord keeps getting these installed after they keep breaking. Tight ****

No, you may have visitors, you may set fire to the house, affecting your neighbours, or you may sell the house. I agree it's frustrating and I also agree that some qualified electricians behave like cowboys. And I'm also sure there was a great deal of lobbying by the profession to get these regulations brought in. However, if you get your shower installed by a qualified electrician they will give you a certificate to prove it, and if it is found to be unsafe then that certificate links them to it, so they do have some incentive to behave sensibly.
The biggest thing that would make these things unreliable is if they don't let water run through for a few seconds with the element off when they are switched off. Otherwise, the element is subjected to severe thermal shock.
attractive?? u blind!
Great find
Steer clear of Tritons and get a Mira instead. If you occasionally forget to turn the leccy off (with the pull cord or similar switchgear) after having a shower, you have a high probability of frying one of the 2 heating circuits. We went through 3 boards in 2 years - all within warranty before we swapped out for a Mira and have had no bother since. The contracted repair engineer said it was a common design fault with Triton showers.

Plumber and/or Electrician depending on work needed. Had a Triton installed in my old house, nothing but bother from day one. Overheating and cutting out. Even got DoE Water Service out to check pressure. Awful experience. Had an Aqualisa mains shower in my current house and it was fab, but needed an electric one due to family. Plumber advised stay away from Trition and go for Redring or Mira and of course Aqualisa.

Yeah know what you mean, my Redring takes 5-10 secs to shutdown once on/off button is pushed so hopefully won't give me the probs my Triton did.
Appearing as OOS. Anyone else getting this?
