Check your wiring. This will draw a whopping current which will fry lesser cables, junctions and switches. Probably why it's cheap-ish.

Get something like Bond used to electrocute Odd Job and you should be fine.
As above. Will require at least a 6mm cable, if not 10mm depending on a number of things.

Check before you buy!
Thanks OP. Was looking for a cheapish shower to replace my current 10.5w model and this looks perfect!
How difficult is it to wire in a new shower?I have changed a few plugs and a couple of light fittings but that's about it.

Great deal. Agree for the uninitiated to check their wiring. Also check their shower is on a separate circuit breaker at a suitable rating to cover this power rating.

Rubbish shower buy mira

For £60, good luck! Yes, Mira are better, they're also 2 (at least) times the price. OP will heat the water just as well as a 10.5kW Mira.

Rubbish shower buy mira

Mira isn't universal, I bought one and it wouldn't fit. My plumber said need to buy these. I decided to remove shower and have thermostatic mixer taps.
He not a plumber then.

Or possible he is a plumber who didn't want to cause significant decoration disturbance. Sounds like you probably know better.
You said mira is not universal which is not true.

I got mira Go, the water input isn't adjustable. He said I need universal inlet.

Its easy, if the cable from consumer unit to shower switch is large enough for a 10.5kw shower, but its a certified job so if you do it yourself you will still need a qualified trade to check your work, provide you with paperwork, and inform building reg.
Its a nightmare, if your cable to consumer unit needs changing, just forget it.

That depends. If there is no derating factors, 6mm can take 47A.

True, though worth noting there are very few installations where 6mm² can run a 10kW shower. Best to assume 10mm² cable if you're diy.

Agree completely, but 10mm is a royal pain in the arse, so always worth exploring whether 6mm can be used

Yes it is, one of the (many) reasons I dislike electric showers. I'll stick with my 27kW gas heated shower.

I tried and failed, it wasn't difficult to wire its just making sure the water input in secure and safe as you don't want the water to splash onto the electric.

If you can't get same model shower to replace make sure to get a universal adjustable water input.
According to most videos I've seen, a plumber will do the work for free...........if the wife agrees to demonstrate the shower
