Now I know this is probably included in other Sainsbury posts but I thought it desrved a post of its own.

Whilst investigating a series of suspicious bear killings, a group of students track a mysterious 'hunter' who wants nothing to do with them and attempts to shake them off his trail. Sheer persistence leads the group right to the prey he is trying to hunt which they soon learn are far more dangerous and mystical creatures than mere bears.

Troll Hunter is a thrilling and wildly entertaining ride where secrets are uncovered thought only to exist in fairy tales.

It's worth mentioning that this film is in Norwegian... So if you're English you either have to watch it Dubbed (really bad!) or with Subtitles. Not a bad film though if you don't mind watching with Subtitles

It's a great film , a shame the Americans are remaking it they will possibly ruin it

All films should be viewed in their native language imo.

Good film, decent price, but definitely a watch-once-then-sell affair.

Worth noting this is on Netflix in HD, not really worth Blu-ray its quite grainy anyway

I agree watched mine once and no real interest in watching it again lol Oh the bright side tho if you watch this then decide to get rid of it CEX are offering £5 trade in so you could always trade this in for the same price you got it for and get another movie from them instead... or they will offer £4 cash if you can't seem to find a decent movie you'd want from them instore.. which is good as these days places like blockbusters charge more than £1 to rent a movie out just for one night so this could also be a cheap way to obtain a copy of the film just to watch then sell off.

They (Hollywood) just re-make good foreign films or re-hash their own from the 70-80-90s. A truly original American film is a rare thing nowadays.

I think I bought mine for £7 in Sainsbury's the other month on a Monday, watched it on a Tuesday, and sold it to CEX for £9 exchange on the Wednesday, hehe.

CHEEPSTUFFRULES!

I thought they made a decent job of Quarantine (REC remake) though. But they then blew it by rushing out a dire low budget sequel rather than taking their time and turning it into a solid franchise like the Spanish did with REC. Dumb asses

We could do with a few of these to moderate the bellends on this forum.

Don't get me wrong, I have seen quite a few really good remakes in the last few years (The Departed, 3:10 to Yuma, True Grit, Solaris) but they are the rare exceptions. I could not believe when I saw they have re-hashed Total Recall, the original 80s version is a modern classic of the genre and the B-movie FX are what makes the film, the new one will be ruined with $millions spent on the CG FXs.

Terrible film, how do you keep a 100ft troll secret from the public ? poundland will be stocking this soon.

OP's go to deal is indicating that it is now no longer available though - needs expiring perhaps?

It's not worth mentioning, because it doesn't matter what language it's in.

That's worth noting, because it could save you the £5 if you have a Netflix account - however I don't think Netflix's HD is as good quality as a Blu-Ray (it can't be anywhere near the same bitrate, so even though they use a codec optimised for streaming the picture quality will be lower). I watched Drive on Netflix recently and the quality on that was awful compared to the Blu-Ray.

Darkscience's comment was right on the money. Just ridiculous at the end.

Agreed. Although it makes a brilliant drinking game for how many times they say the word "troll".
In fact just googled and here it is: frenchtoastsunday.com/201…tml

**** film, **** price. If I wanted to read about a troll I'd go on twitter and write that my nan died & watch all the trolls come like it was feeding time.

with the price of netflix and lovefilm i often wonder why people still buy dvds and blurays

Oh please, less of this jingoistic rubbish. Hundreds of new American films come out every year. If you're talking blockbusters however, even then it's not true, and even then you can blame the masses for those who aren't interested in watching anything they're not already familiar with.

You could easily say the same about London theatreland. How much dross of the dross in the West End is now just musicals 'inspired' by famous chick flicks? A lot, because that's what makes the most money. Familiarity. But that doesn't mean there isn't plenty of interesting, original theatre out there if you're truly interested in it. It's exactly the same situation.

Don't let stereotypical beliefs cloud the reality.

Because of the five or so films I've wanted to watch this past week, my Netflix subscription doesn't carry any of them. For example: The Rocketeer, You Can Count On Me, Monsters (2010)..

I enjoyed this film for what is was , Please tell me the dislike`s were not because of ..." AS IF THAT COULD REALLY HAPPEN".
Escapism is not an F word.

I completely agree it is all because of the money making reality of the Hollywood system, that does not change the fact that they are making a lot more re-makes than they ever used to. You seem to have agreed with me that they are and then explained why it is happening, whatever the reason I still wish the studios/producers would have the guts to put some more original ideas into production. There will be plenty of original ideas out there that never get made which is the sad part.

Bought it for £5.99 last week, good film. Worth a watch.

Jesus, you're a massive nancy.

Who cares? They 're-making' films that otherwise would not be brought to the masses.
