Hob - From Ambient: Add enough popcorn to cover the bottom of a large saucepan. For every cup of popcorn, use 75ml oil. Do not use butter! On high heat, heat the oil to 200-230°C. If the oil smokes, it is too hot. Cover the saucepan with a loose lid that allows the steam to escape. Test the oil by dropping a few kernels into the saucepan. When the kernels pop, add the remaining popcorn. Cover the saucepan and shake to evenly spread oil over the popcorn. When the popcorn rapidly begins to pop, remove the saucepan from the heat. The remaining kernels will still pop in the heated oil. Add salt, sugar or butter as desired. Remember, do not pre-salt the popcorn before popping because it toughens the kernels. Enjoy!
