I just found out bloody coca-cola have bought Costa coffee. See this coca-cola.ie/mar…ion

They also own this adez drink company. It was founded in Argentina in 1998. See this coca-cola.ie/mar…dez

    Some information about gellan gum.

Gellan gum is a food additive that was discovered in the 1970s. First used as a substitute for gelatin and agar agar, it’s currently found in a variety of processed foods, including jams, candy, meats, and fortified plant milks.

    What is gellan gum?
Gellan gum is a food additive typically used to bind, stabilize, or texturize processed foods. It’s similar to other gelling agents, including guar gum, carrageenan, agar agar, and xanthan gum.

It grows naturally on water lilies but can be artificially produced by fermenting sugar with a specific strain of bacteria (2Trusted Source).

It’s a popular replacement for other gelling agents because it’s effective in very small amounts and produces a clear gel that isn’t sensitive to heat (3).

Gellan gum also works as a plant-based alternative to gelatin, which is derived from animal skin, cartilage, or bone. Unless it vegetable gelatin.

What is gellan gum made of?
Gellan gum is a water-soluble anionic polysaccharide produced by Pseudomonas elodea, which is composed of a repeating unit of monomers, tetrasaccharide, that are two residues of D-glucose and one of each residues of D-glucuronic acid and L-rhamnose.

    Is gellan gum safe?

Is gellan gum safe? Yes. Gellan gum has been extensively studied, tested and proven safe for use in food for 30+ years. In fact, Gellan gum has been approved for use by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the European Union and the World Health Organization's Joint Council on Food Additives.

Gellan Gum E418 is a white or off-white powder that is used as an emulsifier, suspension agent, thickener, stabilizer, gelling agent in candy, dairy products, jam, and flour. Though Gellan Gum E418 is considered safe, some are convinced it has potentially dangerous health effects.

    What Is Gellan Gum E418?

Gellan Gum E418 is a high molecular weight polysaccharide gum produced by a pure culture fermentation of a carbohydrate by Pseudomonas elodea, purified by recovery with isopropyl alcohol, dried, and milled. It appears as an off-white powder, and it is often used as a thickener, emulsifier, and stabilizer. This product is mainly used in soya milks to keep the soy protein suspended in the milk, and it can also be found in candy, dairy products, jam, and flour.

Possible Side Effects of Gellan Gum E418

Although Gellan Gum E418 generally regarded as a very safe and effective supplement, there can be some minor side effects. The side effects may: Excessive intake may cause abdominal bloating, excessive gas (flatulence), loose stools or diarrhea.

    GRAS Affirmation: Yes

Generally recognized as safe (GRAS) is an American Food and Drug Administration (FDA) designation that a chemical or substance added to food is considered safe by experts, and so is exempted from the usual Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FFDCA) food additive tolerance requirements. Gellan Gum E418 is considered safe.

This has been around for a month or two now. Mix of two things I think the guy in store told me. As it’s free for a while might give it a go.

Looking into my ball of crystal. They will sack all the coffee jockeys/Barrista's and make a totally automatic service, involving no human interaction, ordered by bluetooth, voice recognition or wifi, made by robots and totally untouched by human hands.

Except for the poor people who pick and process the coffee beans, transport them, roast them, and the people who refill the automated machines. But only when their Ai manager/overlord tells them to!

Fantastic, Now I don't have to have their horrid soya milk which is the only free alternative milk they offer!

With the amount of money/profit they make. They should offer real milk and all the plant based alternatives at the same price. However the problem is, all the companies making and selling milk alternatives are charging a fortune for basically watery squeezed plant or nut juice. It's nearly 3 or 4 time the price of real milk. It's crazy.
