do you really need all the aggravation of waiting for it to come from Hong Kong for a 14p saving ? what about supporting the UK economy !

yep misleading, and strange enough OP forgot to mention this...

I dont get what the key hole at the bottom is for, nor the claim "Allows airport screeners to unlock inspect and relock bags"

Im assuming that means theres a special "TSA" key floating about the world - and that can unlock these padlocks without the code.

So would that render these useless as gym locks?

The keyhole is so the TSA can unlock your lock to inspect your luggage

The idea behind it is that only Airport Screening Agents 'should' have the key and can open you bag if a secondary screening is necessary. The lock still serves a purpose because it prevents other baggage handlers and airport workers from beign able to get into your bag. It may not be 100% effective but something is better than nothing.

Hot..as this is £5.99 in TK Maxx..

Unless you are going to Florida etc on holiday though, I doubt why you would give a toss what the TSA think.

Does anyone know what size these are? Thanks.

If you use these on a case with a zip... watch the video

So basically the real deal is - does anyone know where I can buy one of the TSA keys

The key lock is a good thing as Customs have all sets of little jiggly keys they use to crack key locks within a few seconds. Without the key lock, they would just use bolt cutters rendering the lock broken for future use.

Cool vid but no, not pointless, as not everyone knows about this (well, I didnt!). And of course if someone wants to get in they will - its just another layer of security

I'd rather have a £2 lock broken every once in a while than use a lock which other people have keys for

Yeah, ill take one of those too.

Reminds of being 17 and being offered a Fruit Machine Key in the pub.

For about 25 minutes... I thought id won the lottery.

i got a TSA lock when i travelled to florida 2 yrs ago, 2 brand new locks. when our suitcases arrived in orlando, one of the locks were gone and the security didn't even care. said it was mislaid when they took it off. i said the whole point is for you to put it back on, the man just looked at me like i was garbage!

Bought Samsonite TSA locks and used them to Florida, When I collected the bags there was a note to say they had been opened. Both locks had been cut. I complained and was told to read the web site, they are entitled to cut the locks. You have no claim against them.
Use cable ties its cheaper.

Your point is mute? If anyone can simply press a pen into a zip, pop it open and unzip it then do it back up no problems, how is "extra layers" of security (I assume you mean more padlocks) relevant?

Same here, these locks are utterly pointless. Bought them twice now for trips to Florida, first time they were removed completely, I complained & was told tough read the baggage rules. Second time they were ripped from the case snapping the zips off in the process & rendering the cases useless.

For those not bothered about the TSA approval (the bypass keys are available on ebay anyway so a bit pointless), these are pretty solid and you get 3 for £1.89 and mine arrived within 2 days.

Lesson learned, don't go to Florida.
