From mse. A reminder that it ends on the 26th June so get switching

New customers switching to TSB's Classic Plus* via our link get £130 to switch to it (nowt direct). Plus, there's also up to £10/mth free cash to be claimed. It pays out £5 every month you have two or more direct debits paid out, and another £5/mth if you use your debit card at least 20 times in that month, until 30 June 2018.

As an extra bonus, you also get 3% AER variable on the first £1,500 in your account. All these perks mean you could earn almost £300 if you switch and keep the account for a year.

Need-to-knows
To get the switching bonus, apply by Mon 26 Jun and fully switch to it including 2+ active direct debits (what counts as active?) using TSB's switching service by Fri 14 Jul (DD's must still be active for at least 28 days after the switch completes). You also need to pay in £500+ in the first 28 days from switching.
You need to allow cookies in your browser else the £130 switching offer mightn't track.
If your current bank isn't signed up to CASS, you can still get the bonus by doing a manual switch. See key questions for more.
You won't get the bonus if you've ever got a switching bonus from TSB before or if you currently hold a Classic Plus account in your sole name.
The bonus is paid to your account within 28 working days of the switch completing as long as you've met the terms above. If you have any issues with your switch, call TSB's Switcher Team on 0345 835 7838.
The 20 transactions need to be made within a calendar month – the date of transaction will be when the money's taken from your account, which could be a couple of days after you spend. Online, contactless and Apple and Android Pay transactions count, but ATM withdrawals don't.
The direct debits need to go out within the calendar month (so watch out for bank holidays & weekends), and need to be paid to different companies. You need to be registered for internet banking for this cashback.
You'll need to pay in £500/mth, register for internet banking (and log in at least once a year) & opt for paperless statements & correspondence to get the interest.
If you have more than one account, you can get the cashback on both, provided you meet the criteria on each account, but you can only get one switching bonus.
This account has a linked 2% regular saver, though this can be beaten by other regular saver accounts.
TSB has the full £85,000 UK savings safety guarantee.

I think everybody knew about it but I guess, like me, there will have been people putting it off not realising that the closing date was only 2 - 3 weeks away. Without Anon32's post I would have missed out on £190 thanks to mañana syndrome

TSB are actually horrible, I've made some 35 contactless transactions this month and of course the payments haven't been taken from the account till nigh on 4 or 5 days after the event sometimes over a week, leading to a shortfall between what is showing in your account and what is actually there, twice now I've ended up empty when the account shows over sixty quid and nothing pending and it's just to do you over on paying out the contactless payment, so all this faff switching my account and the incentive to switch was completely pointless.

I switched to TSB from Halifax with 2 active direct debits, but forgot to pay in the £500 within 28 days. Probably explains why I haven't had a single penny from them?

I received my £130 on August 7th. Considering that I used a MSE link specifically meant for switching, things could have gone smoother. For a start I couldn't just switch I had to open their current account first. Since I was a new customer I had to take ID documents into a branch to be scanned (if you don't drive or take foreign holidays, good luck with that). After emailing me my confirmation of my successful application I then had to wait 3 - 4 days to gain access to my account because they had to post a verification code to me. After that I had to apply to be switched. In the meantime I wanted an overdraft facility so I filled in the online form only to get an error code. I tried again and got the same error. I then phoned in to be told I have to wait 3 - 4 months before applying.

Did you have to pay in £500 within 28 days in order to get the £130?

It is my main account so, yes, my income went in there (or was transferred across from my old account).
