This is another great deal from TSB.

The Platinum 20-month purchase card offers:
  • 0% interest for up to 20 months on purchases
  • 0% interest for up to 20 months on balances transferred within the first 90 days. (2.95% balance transfer fee applies during the first 90 days)
  • Receive £20 Cashback when you make £20 of eligible purchases with your new card. (Eligible means normal shopping basically. No ATM withdrawals, gambling transactions, currency purchase etc). To be eligible you need to open an account by 10 January 2018 and spend £20 by 9 February – so act quick. £20 cashback will be credited to your account by the 31 March. New customers only.
  • 1% cashback on the first £500 of eligible spend each month if you have a TSB Classic Plus current account. This equates to a maximum cashback of £5 a month. The offer ends on 30 June 2018 so there’s a potential £60 up for grabs.

Why I like this credit card
A decent 0% deal on purchases, a free £20 and a potential £5/month cashback on spending until June. Sounds like a pretty good deal to me.

The card also offers 0% for 20 months on balance transfers but the 2.95% fee is off-putting – if you’ve got a balance to transfer, TSB’s Platinum 0% 28-month BT card is a better bet. It also offers £20 cashback.

It’s also worth noting you need a TSB current account to get the 1% cashback each month until June.

same happened to me. Email saying successful, then no card arrived.
As a TSB card holder a couple of points to mention (which is why I don't use my card)
1) It doesn't support contactless (even though in branch they told me it would)
2) Their online fraud protection is over zealous. Meaning you will get things declined and to contact them and then make the purchase again. Had this 3 times in 4 months.

Also the savings to be made are pretty small on purchases (@0%) as the credit limit they offer you will be lower than expected (Don't plan on buying a car/kitchen/luxury holiday). Yet when the offer period has finished they will happily increase it. That part doesn't bother me but to some it will.

Plus point is TSB customer service are pretty good if you need to use them.

Sticking with my trusty MBNA card which has been no trouble in the past 12 years anywhere in the world.
I applied for one of these last time they were offering a promotion, and have been using it for a few months now.... never had any problems, no declined transactions (neither online or in-store), and contactless certainly works fine on mine as I use it all the time.
I have never used credit cards before so don't know the catches and gotchas. When I Google it it seems other cards offer longer zero interest purchase plans. Can someone explain why is this a good deal for someone who doesn't know anything about credit cards?
By new customers only for the cash back does it mean for the card or TSB generally, as I have their bank account.

The T&C are your friends! "Existing TSB CREDIT CARD customers are not eligible for this offer."
Damn, rejected! Don't be like me, check your credit rating via clubs.moneysavingexpert.com/cre…gin BEFORE applying for any credit card to avoid that big, black REJECTED marker on your Credit Rating :-[
