Smooth for a blended, even given its Irish. Nice drink, not in the same league as Bushmills, but nicer than DeLaneys.

Bushmills, though Irish is made like a Scotch and can't really be compared to other Irish whiskies.

Also don't knock blends, a decent blend is often better than a bad single malt. If you can get to a decent whiskey tasting you'll soon appreciate what's available, I discovered Greenore 8 year old Single grain at one and was able to buy a case at £18 a bottle
I prefer Lockes single malt, but i have not seen a deal for that yet, their blended is nice but i still like black bush, must be something to do with the Scots influence
Listen, let's talk "normal" and "luxury" ...... nobody is trying to compare Moet with Dom Perignon.

Tully has always been my favourite "normal" tipple. It's a question of personal taste, but I don't appreciate scotch blends and I drink Jameson when it's the only Irish available. Tully actually outsells Jameson in many countries (and even outsells any Scotch in a few).

At this price, with British duty and taxes, it's a steal.
