What is it going into? I'm not a professional, am actually a computer geek, but do a lot of work in my 'spare' time. You'll have 27mm in the receiving structure, should be fine. The pressure on a floor is down anyway, the screw is to stop it moving rather than hold its weight.
Excellent quality screws. I've been using them in solid oak with no issues, so at this price I've restocked.
Best wood screws by far, bought 3 of the trade cases a few years back and still going strong!
I've just been into B&Q for a bag of tungsten tipped screws. Never gonna use 'em.....

Going into floor joists. I’ve read that 4.5 are the ideal screw and 5 may be too thick.

If you are worried about the thickness drill a small pilot hole? I'd just go for it TBH, at this price it's worth buying a box and testing a few. If you were going into a hardwood I'd be more sceptical, but chipboard into joists I'd at least try. Actually now I think about it these will probably be used for exactly the same in my loft, just not for a few weeks yet as I have loads on

For flooring i'd recommend the Spax special flooring screws but then I'd also use 22mm... is this just loft boarding or going over an existing floor?
Can you buy Spax special flooring 45mm instead of 60?
What a find. You've made an apprentice joiner very happy!

There are some recommendations on the aldi screw thread you may find useful.

I usually go with stainless if outdoor, but they cost more. In wet conditions the wood will probably give before the screws though, so go with whatever is cheapest!

I’ve just bought 35 boxes ( mix ). Screw time
Got the TurboGold 1000pc box of various sizes a while back for a renovation and were pretty good from what I remember. If you need any of these sizes on offer I can't see why you'd spend multiple times more on spax screws unless someone has used both and can say that spax or another brand are far superior to these? With them being double self countersunk and having a sharp tip I'd think they are more than adequate for most jobs. I had some of these, along with some decking screws left out in the rain for a couple of months over the winter and didn't notice any rust or deterioration so seem to be well made. Might stock up on them while they're at this price.
