PEAR watchface for Android Wear

So there is this big company, lets call it PEAR industries, which will release that awesome new product in 2015.
They always tell how cool and innovative they are. So I decided, that it would be nice if we show the people following this company how cool our shiny products can be

Go to your special friends and tell them, that you have the new prototype smartwatch from PEAR before everyone.
This shows you how easy it is to create your own designs with WearFaces.

Have fun!

Hmm so having owned a htc desire, a Sony Xperia play, a Google nexus 7(2012), iPod touch(1st and 4th gen), iPad Air and an iPhone 6 makes me an apple fanboy(or fanboi as you call it)? Ok whatever floats your boat.

Why would I want to turn something useful like Moto 360 into something boring like Apple watch copycat?

oh wait Apple have released a product that is clearly a copy of something that has already been invented, surely by their own policy that is not allowed. Court proceedings are underway.

Define a copy though. Every phone is basically a rectangle with a touch screen that makes calls and sends texts. There are very few original ideas left that haven't already been produced in one form or another. Patents can stunt progress more than they protect and champion innovation. Some patents are owned but freely available to be leased and used by everyone. That doesn't mean they are copying, it means they are coming up with their own uses for existing technology.

You may think Apple is always compying what the others do, and I can see how it looks that way. But is it better to wait and see what the market does with those technologies before jumping in feet first without testing the water? From a business point of view it makes sense for Apple to have waited to see how the smart watch market has grown over the last few years. They've seen they are taking off and think it is a viable market to get in to. They've seen where other smart watches have gone wrong and what they have got right and then run with that when coming up with their own version. makes perfect sense to me, get free market research and then rake in billions when the market is fully ready for it. Apple may not innovate very often, but they do no when a market is ready for a product to really take off and do it at the right time.

Exactly

Under Steve Jobs, Jon Molyneux etc, Apple were a truly inspiring company. As a designer running a lot of Apple equipment in my studio (iMacs, Mini Macs, MacBook Pros, phones are Nexus... sorry don't like the restrictions of the iPhone) I love their equipment, but even I can see they are lacking in the spark of inspiration they once had at the moment.

The trouble is, we've got stuck in the annual refresh, so progress is incremental and gradual. I would guarantee the innovation is there somewhere, but there's no profit to be had by selling us all of those innovations now when they can sell us two at a time every year for the next five years.

All technology markets are the same, the annual refresh has ruined what used to be stand out a different products to all new gadgets being slightly better than they were before.

I don't update my iphone every year, or even two years. It still works fine and is supported and I still want enough of a jump in features and speed to notice the difference between my new purchase and my old. I bought the iphone 4 first and then upgraded when the 5S came out. I have no intention of getting the 6/6 Plus or the 6S versions. I might get the iphone 7, but it will have to be a major leap of features to make me bite.

Why would I want to downgrade anything to Apple?

must admit i support Apple and their many devices in work and they are nothing but absolute trouble interms of campatibility etc. I would not of bought an iphone or osx based device before and defo not now either, over priced 'fashionable' nonsense that it appears a lot of users have no idea why they bought/own them.
