The Ear Force PX3 headset lets you dominate your competition with digital signal processing, wireless game sound, crystal-clear communication and the convenience of a rechargeable battery. Featuring a lightweight, circumaural ear cup design with massive 50mm speakers, the PX3 delivers exceptional audio quality and maximum comfort.

While designed primarily for the PS3, the PX3 also works great as an Xbox 360 and PC gaming headset. When used in PS3 and Xbox modes, the PX3's unique digital signal processor provides game and chat audio presets that tune the headset sound for different gaming situations. Presets can also be replaced with different ones downloaded from the Turtle Beach… more » website. There's also a rechargeable battery that provides more than 10 hours of game play between charges. The battery can be charged while gaming, so you'll never miss out on the action.

If you're serious about gaming, then get serious about the sound. Step up to the PX3 and experience game audio like never before.

Programmability:
The PX3 lets you customize the way game and chat signals are processed. You can configure each preset with different settings to enhance specific parts of the sound.

With the press of a button, you can completely change your sound environment and hear sound cues you'd normally miss. For instance, you can select a preset that isolates the sound of footsteps in the distance while honing in on the sound of an enemies reloading or bullet casings hitting the floor. Many of the presets also incorporate a unique Blast Limiter feature that reduces ear fatigue by automatically controlling the volume of extremely loud sounds, like explosions, without affecting other sounds in the game.

The game and chat presets give you a huge competitive advantage by allowing you to hone in on sounds your enemies can't even hear, while making sure communication with your team is crystal-clear.

Game Presets:
Game presets change the way the headset processes game sounds, so you can tune in to the important sounds at critical parts of the game. For example, if you're having a hard time hearing footsteps while playing your favorite FPS, just load up a preset that makes footsteps louder and you can suddenly hear them over loud gunfire and explosions, just as if you had super human hearing.

Chat Presets:
Chat presets manipulate the voices from Xbox LIVE and PlayStation Network chat. Have a teammate or friend who's always huffing and puffing into the mic? Just load up a preset that kills off really quiet chat sounds so you don't have to listen to the breathing. You could use a chat preset to limit burst volume if you've got a friend prone to victory-yelling. Or, load the Chat Boost preset if you can't hear your teammates over the roar of loud game blasts.

Update Your Headset:
Register and download software to create, edit, and upload new presets to your PX5. New and useful presets will be regularly updated and download-able directly from Turtle Beach. The possibilities are endless and the concept is revolutionary

How do these compare with the x41's? I've been looking for them for my wee lad.

reviews seem good, they usually retail at £100 in most places so 20% saving to be had

Says there are to many wires if using dolby, but it;s supposed to be wireless, i don't get that. He already has the x31.

p.s. Thanks for the reply

Tesco are £124

amazon £119

DSS 5.1/7.1 channel Dolby for 7.1surround sound processor £40
ebay.co.uk/itm…64a

Not sure if to get this setup or the new wireless Sony

Reading the user guide for the 7.1 they will be wireless i guess just more cables near the console. turtlebeach.com/por…pdf

You will need to use the Xbox chat controller cable for chat so cable from control pad to head set.

Been reading up as i am looking for a good set this setup would be true 7.1 sound also i think you can play movies from ps3 etc and have surround sound. The Sony ones will not. You need to buy the The Ear Force DSS 5.1/7.1 for the Dolby sound.
what to get ?

These will be virtual surround just like the Sony ones as there as only two speakers, it's more a case of whether the PS3 or the extra £40 doing the processing is the better choice.

Thanks for reply may just go for the Sony set myself but this is a good price.

No worries, I'm trying to make the same choice. Got my lad the P11s from when they were £20 odd at Tesco which he's really happy with but I'd like to get him some wireless goodness for Christmas.

I'm in the market for a set around this price .. have been looking at these .. sony .. tritton

decisions decisions oO

If you absolutely must have wireless then I'd go for these and get the Turtle Beach DSS as well, yes it costs more than the sony equivalent (and doesn't look as nice in my opinion) but not only can you use these for films etc, you can also use them on other consoles which gives them an element of future proofing. As an aside: do NOT knock virtual surround, Dolby headphone is ridiculously good - I've played with both a high end set of surround sound speakers and I've also got an Astro mix amp and a set of Sennheiser PC360's (We're talking waaaay above the cost of this set but even so) and this combo is pretty much impossible to beat in my opinion.

from the looks of it the PX3 is jsut the PX21 with a wireless transmitter... shame... its a good price

it makes no sense to me... a fair bit of money for a stereo headset.. you could get the same thing wired for £45 and you would not have to worry about charging or interference

hot though as it is a cheap price

Perhaps not if you sit on top of your telly, my lad sits on the settee with 10 feet of cable across the middle of the lounge. Makes just as much sense as wireless controllers!

my aim was more to try help other people who are perhaps interested in performance quality of these kind of headsets rather than, the difference between wireless and wired

wireless has obvious benefits depending upon your own situation, but in terms of performance for price.. if you are not concerned between wired/wireless... these make no sense

Not so much helping, more stating the obvious whilst ignoring the whole point of wireless with a sweeping "it makes no sense" comment.

if you have no preference between a wireless headset or wired headset, then from everything i can see, purchasing this headset over the PX21's whcih can be had a fair bit cheaper... makes no sense..

that is my point

i dont think it is stating the obvious as i was trying to inform people on here who may not be aware that the same basis of this model appears to be the PX21.. i for one did not know untill i did a little hunt, as model numbers between these headsets can be confusing

i also thought this might come with some form of amplification or digital audio processing, which would justify its £149.99 rrp... it does not

it is jsut the px21 with wireless capability.. nothing more, nothing less

i might be incorrect here , but this is what i can deduce.. if you think this is obvious, or a sweeping statement then you are maybe a little ignorant of others who arent as aware of the technical differences between the turtle beach headset range

I actually have this headset and there is a lot more to it than is being mentioned here. For a start its nothing like a PX21 as i also looked at them when choosing. They are a different shape and finish, have a rechargeable battery which is great as it can be charged while playing as it comes with a long charge cable. The one thing that isnt mentioned here are the presets that are in the headset allowing you to change the sound you hear. Take a look at the Turtle Beach site here and click the programmability tab. turtlebeach.com/pro…spx
I love it even though it is stereo. I thought about buying the surround sound product, but love this as it is.

LOL, that's not what you said and is exactly why I critised you.

Thank you C_Rage for showing what a helpful post is supposed to be.

hmmm... maybe i wasnt so good with my words in my first post then...

i dont understand how C-Rage's is particularly helpful, from what i can see they are an almost identical shape to the PX21's, one of the differences you mention is the wireless reciever (which ineitably adds a bulge) and they will weigh a bit more as they will have a battery in there, probably makes them feel heavier and higher quality

nothing like each other?!

admittedly the presets may be different, but things like MW3 version of the PX21's have presents the standards do not... are they worth paying for? genuine question

as previously mentioend i am basing all this off stuff i am pulling of the internet, they utilise the same 50mm drivers right?

I'd overlooked the PX21s not having the degree of adjustability the PX3s do and had assumed they were just a straight wireless version but as my lad seems to think hearing footsteps is the most important thing ever being able to tweak them for that exact purpose seemed appropriate made them a much more interesting prospect. Personally, I think all gaming headphones are gloriously overpriced for there sonic ability.

Physically, I think the MW3 version is identical bar the graphics and I'm sure I read you could download custom presets to install on the PX3 so whether you have access to them or not I don't know.

£80 is a good price in relation to what they're going for elsewhere and I haven't seen any big discounts on the MW3 ones, presumably that'll be when the next CoD comes out, so given you can probably get the settings elsewhere gratis these would have to be the best option.

I finally ordered a pair rather than the new Sony ones because I thought these covered more bases. They work on all platforms for starters and as I said tweaking the sound for a particular purpose is something the recipient will get off on. There's also the fact these in stock and there's no guarantee the Sony ones will be available at that price before Christmas.

For me they tick all the boxes, no more wires to trip over, PS3 chat, simple connection and reviews imply similar if not better quality than others at the price point. I do appreciate others have different boxes which may lead them to a different conclusion.

yes £54 is the cheapest i have been able to get MW3 px21's and standard PX21's for £45

im going round and round in circles with the whole headset thing.. is killing me

these are a hot deal regardless of anything that has been said as they are much cheaper than any other PX3's from any other retailers.. im jsut trying to learn the eveything about them before i jump in... realistically i dont think you can go that far wrong (unless you jsut purchase a PC headset)
