The headset itself is wireless.

Any wiring is out of the way by the console.

I got myself a pair of the non-COD brand ones a few months ago from amazon. Pretty pleased.

seriously considering this
are they plenty sturdy ?
sound quality good enough for movie watching ?
Just a heads up i have the non COD ones too, Love them but they do knock out my wireless printer,iPod normally just turning of the headphones then back on sorts it out.

And i paid 75 pounds.

I've had no complaints about them but as a disclaimer: I do not classify myself as an audio-buff/audiophile.

Best thing is during late night cod session I can walk over to the fridge with the headphones on still involved in the banter and grab a beer

Generally good sound and wire-free lifestyle. The battery is decent. Great for £50 in my opinion.

Are these Wireless for XBOX-360 chat though? I though most of these Turtle Beach headsets still needed the talkback cable connected to the 360 controller for chat?

You still need the cable from the headset to controller on xbox

You're right. Wireless sound but a talkback cable is provided for chat with XBOX 360.

Also I find that movies sound better with headphones anyway as you can pickup lots more sound detail.
These are well worth £50, but they have been that price on eBay for ages.

Deserves more heat than 86!
hmm, the widely reported wifi issue has put me right off i'm afraid
got so many things in the house that use wifi, not least the xbox and the PS3, means i think i'll be giving these a miss
cheers for your comments though guys
Turtle beach are a great brand and make solid gaming headphones, but Im always wary when they get into bed with someone else, the result is always rubbish. Not sure about this one.
If I don't have my X31 which is working great, I would have click BUY Nice one...
I've used and/or owned turtle beach x1, x11, x12 and x41 sets. I've also used a set of Sennheiser and the Astro A40s. The cheaper end turtle beach headsets are well priced (x11 for £20-30 on ebay refurbished).

I do however, find the ear cup material quite harsh compared to some other sets (senns and Astro). Also I am very careful with my headsets (had my current one for over two years and use it almost every day) but the turtle beach sets are much easier to break over time (ear cups come loose etc). The ear cup from the x11 completely fell off after a few months of use.

Also with the x41 the wireless caused buzzing constantly when on Xbox chatting. The chat cable used on turtle beach are also quite easily broken and can cause feedback when a play and charge kit is plugged in (Xbox).

This is good for the price and a deal, but be aware of some of the issues wireless turtle beach sets have.

Edit: Also the 'dynamic chat boost' feature (which allows the headset to turn up the voice volumes in game if say, an explosion is near you) can be really over the top and make the voices of other people in game almost twice as loud as you need.

cheap plastic tack
I use a PS3 and XBox360, i'm looking for my first decent headset. This any good? If not, any advice on what to buy, that's compatible with both? Cheers.
So are these exactly the same as the PX3? other than the branding and colour changes?
Wait for the newer tb headsets that support their newer interference free dual band wireless signal
Will they be ok if i use 2 pairs in the house at the same time?

^ that's sort of the same as saying 'no don't buy this phone now, they'll release a new one in a year and then the price of this one will drop...'
frikkin hek just bought one of them geoteck ex-05 from tesco other day for £29
knew something like this would turn up ffs lol

Yeh you should. Don't let George Osbourne down lol
You guys should get astro a40. They are expensive but you'll keep them for years.
are the astro a40 much better than the turle beach?
Never come across the wifi problem, I can still use my phone or lappy sat next to my lad when he's using them with the ps3.
For those whinging on about hissing with the wireless headset's try changing channels that your router broadcasts on. I did and the hiss went

Yes they are.
Have owned Logitech G930's for a while now..... Amazing headset!

My friend has the MW3 Turtle beach headset but not even close to the Logitech.

You can also buy the Logitech G930's for similar price.
