My son asked me to buy him a new headset today. He isn't willing to wait until Black Friday (his money). Anyway found ths headset on the Turtle Beach website, currently reduced to £99.99. If you sign up you can get 10% off the first order, code emailed immediately, so final price £90, with free shipping.

Checked camelcamel, lowest on Amazon £89.99 last years Black Friday.

Also potential 4.2% via TCB

Seems like a good deal, hopefully he won't break them too soon....

I'd suggest the hyperx cloud 2s best headset I've gotten (maybe even the alphas are better)
The sound of these is poor. As above said i returned mine for the hyper x cloud 2 & do not regret it.
I've got the 600s and the sounds is good. Not the best but still good
Just checking the HyperX Cloud 2 on amazon - they appear to be wired only?

Open to suggestions on a better wireless headset, will cancel the turtlebeach if there is a better option

I think the general consensus is that unless your going to drop £250 on some Astro a50’s most of the “wireless” headsets are pretty trash when it comes to actual sound quality when put up against something like the hyper x or razer krakens which require only 1 cable to the controller.

For context, I purchased these thinking I needed wireless, upgrading from XO7 pros and found the sound quality comparison to be absolutely night and day. I have since upgraded to razer krakens which are insane compared to either. krakens > XO7 > stealth.

IMO wireless is just a bit of a gimmick
Ok, thanks for the advice. He wants wireless, so will stick with these.
Great set, I bought these a year back for £105 on Amazon. Has a feature you can connect mobile phone via bluetooth so if you can receive calls uninterrupted too.

I'm still rocking the XP500's, still amazing sound quality all these years later, great for COD when the kids are in bed !
I bought a pair of these from CEX for £70 for my daughter to play Fortnite - the wired port in the controllers is terrible, so wanted wireless and the wireless TB series pair directly with the Xbox. Haven't tried them myself but shes happy

The alphas are cheaper then the 2s. are they worth it?

The gaming version (not tournament edition). I have the bright green ones.
Don’t buy these headphone!
I bought these when they first came out and I regretted them. Not very comfortable and squeak and creak like crazy due to them being made plastic.
I took them back to Currys after two days and I was lucky at the time as Curry’s had a sale on some HyperX Cloud Alpha down from £80/£90 to £40 so thought I’d give them a shot and Damn! These are amazing headphones so comfy and sounds amazing and no sound leaking!
However long story short don’t suggest these headphone at all!

I'd presume they are
I generally use a wired set if I'm holding a controller anyway but find these good when I'm watching Netflix through the Xbox as I dont want a controller and cable in the way. I also use these a lot for listening to music through my phone as they connect to that like any Bluetooth headphones. I find the sound quality of these pretty good so not sure what problems people are having. Not an exact comparison but these can often be picked up cheaper via Amazon warehouse deals but they are obviously customer returns. They are even cheaper when its 20% off. I paid about £40 and they were pristine. You wont get cheaper than this unopened.
Got these and happy with them. I'm no audiophile but the sound quality in game is good. My only gripe is sometimes I have to reconnect them as they lose connection. Anyway £90 for a pair of £110 headphones is a good deal at the end of the day and therefore heat added

I have these and have had no issues. Decent sound quality with super hearing turned on playing bf5. Make sure you update the firmware also.
No complaints here but each to their own
I'll throw my 2 pence in. I've had these for exactly a year now. Fantastic sound quality and great surround sound for battle royale games. Happy to wear them for hours on end, great range on the wireless connectivity. My only complaint it probably that the mic pics up a lot of background noise that I can't hear myself becuase of the noise cancelling capability of them

I had these and sent them back as I was not that impressed. I am looking at the SteelSeries Arctis 9X but not to sure as you can get the wired sennheiser gsp 600

The astros are just to expensive. I am not to sure on what to get for the Xbox one.
