Doesn't everybody just love to see their car covered in Snow Foam..!?!?But …Doesn't everybody just love to see their car covered in Snow Foam..!?!?But does it really make that much difference?

I’ve been detailing my own cars for years and I’ve always thought snow foaming seemed a bit pointless unless the car was filthy.

However after buying a decent snow foam lance (Auto bright) and trying it out on several vehicles I’ve added it into my cleaning routine.

I thought it would make no difference to my own car (garage queen that does less than 5k a year) but I did notice the black paintwork did seem brighter. I was a bit reluctant to use it on that car but if they are marked as non wax removal it won’t take the protection away.

I tried it on my work van (filthy) and it did make the job easier. Also just used it to clean a splattering of bird muck and pollen off the wife’s runaround and I was impressed. I snowfoamed and jetted it, although far from what I’d deem clean it had taken all the heavy build up off.

Personally I wouldn’t touch anything turtle wax.

I tried Autobrite which is great got filthy vehicles but costly. I’ve just bought some valet pro as it’s far more cost effective and

the reviews say results are close/same to more expensive rivals.

One of the worst!

This guy does a great video!

For those that don't know, this foam is pre mixed. So whilst it is cheap compared to others, the others will give you more litres as they're designed to be diluted.

Not all of us have a hose accessible. Can we bodge using it?
Surprised that I didn't think of that as my old man used one for weeding.
Cheers

Got the autobrite spray gun and foam pack coming so checking what’s good for any additional foam
I have used this stuff and seems to be thick and foamy, but my cannon uses a fair bit of it. Probably about half to three quarters of a litre to cover my entire car and get into the wheel wells. Undiluted of course as it says on the bottle.
Although it goes on thick, it slides off quickly and doesn't seem to have alot of cleaning power to it.
Guess it's fine if you've got coating on your not-thickly-filth-ridden car and just need to give it a good regular wash.
Once I use the snowfoam am i supposed to wash it off, then re snow foam and use that lather for washing the car or do I still use a traditional car clean product?

Spray on with jet wash lance, wait specified time (dependant on brand), remove all product with water and then wash as you would normally. The principle of snow foam is to remove contaminates and micro particles prior to the mitt wash process to help reduced clean coat (paint) damage (lines and marks).

I bought this when it was on offer for £5.59 at eurocarparts last year, which was good for the price. I've had good results with it, but you have to use it undiluted, so it's poor value at £2 a litre unfortunately.

And risk spreading whatever dirt, potentially scratching the paintwork
Can anyone recommend a reasonable cannon for a nilfisk a bit cheaper than the autobrite one pls. Can't justify 40quid+ for my old banger. Just want a reasonable coverage and price to match

Snowfoam is just a prewash. Whatever foam you use, it's always financially better to buy undiluted snowfoam which comes in 5 ltr containers. I don't rate Turtle wax it's out of their league any of these are good but they get the ingrained dirt off. You do need to wash it as normal preferably with a microfibre mitt. Autobrite Direct Magifoam, Bilt Hamber Auto Foam (my preferred choice), Meguiar's Ultimate Snow Foam. Autoglym Polar Wash (this comes in 2.5L containers). Hope this helps someone decide as it's a huge market.
Bilt bamber is the best in my opinion, check out this video

However it is sold out everywhere atm when i last checked

True, it is the best from my personal experience. Regarding stock, you can always request to be notified when stock becomes available. I did that with a few of the companies, including Bilt Hamber and got email notification within a week from 3 of them. Finally bought direct from Bilt Hamber for £16:99, with £5.99 delivery.
