Voted hot. Too expensive for me, but these go for much more on ebay and there is no other device who provides the same experience.

Yes, you can use smart displays, laptops, tablets, phones, but video calls on big screen on TV is a completely different experience.

Also perfect for vulnerable or elderly who can't handle technology, so easy for them to ask the portal to ring the family and see the whole family on a big screen, instead of grandkids on top of each other. You sit on the sofa and the portal shows the whole room.

You only know how good is this if you owned one, or you used Skype on TV when that was possible. On top of this, you have the Alexa features, so you can do pretty much the same things as on a speaker or smart display.

Shame will go cold, if your read the comments on the previous deals, half of the people don't even know what this is. If you don't know what it is, you don't need it, why vote cold. If you want one, get it now, these go OOS soon, high demand on them, and the price does not drop often.

Previous cheapest was £289, so hot for me.

Voting on price drop, not whether I like the product
Wouldn't touch with a Facebook camera with a barge pole but price is actually good.
These were never sold for more than £149.00 by Facebook. Yes, they are hard to get hold of due to stock issues but if you go to portal.facebook.com, the price is there. This is great to have video call over WhatsApp or FB messenger but the main selling point is that it can track you whilst your move ( being it 120 degree angle only)

Out of stock at £149
Facebook meeting, 2018:

"We need a way of spying on people like Amazon and Google do.."

'What about a camera?'

"It's been done before, no, we need something much more invasive."

'How about a camera that tracks users round their room? We can dress it up as a videoconferencing camera or some carp.'

"Genious. Let's get them built and sent out to the idiots, I bet they'll pay full price for them too!"

Fast forward two years..
Bit expensive for a glorified webcam
Why anybody would trust FB with something like this is beyond me... Yes you can say Google/Amazon etc but they weren't involved in massive scandals like the Cambridge Analytica thing.
Amazes me how this is voted cold. Based on the fact no one has it at this price with stock available. Silly people voting cold.

It's not only a webcam, it has full Alexa capabilities. So probably the equivalent of a smart display. Which indeed is cheaper, but video calls on TV make a difference.

Nothing unusual. If you look at previous deals, you'll see quarter of the people don't have a clue what this is, another quarter are against Facebook, another quarter think Facebook is interested in spying on your grandmother. The other quarter follows the crowd voting cold.

This is a great device. I believe is pricey, but there are no other alternatives. I was happy with Skype and my £50 TV camera, sadly, now this is the only alternative.
