It is graded stock, 3 months warranty? Therefore not new

As said in previous topic from Bigpockets, it is listed as
Condition: Brand New

They have over 1400 in stock
It might just be more of the Bankrupt stock
May be worthwhile contacting them if you have any worries though

You're not downloading the content from the net. It's through digital transmission - same as using a freeview box. It's basically a freeview card for your PC. You're not using any bandwidth when using this. You don't even need a net connection.

review from Amazon (hope this helps Katie)

Easy to install and simple to use.
Managed to scan most channels using the included aerial (in strong signal area).
Tried on 2.66GHz Celeron PC with 256MB memory (64MB onboard graphics)and on 1.6GHz Celeron Laptop also with 256MB memory and 64MB onboard graphics.
Clear picture with no sticking or jumping.
Recording seems simple enough (to mpeg files) which viewed easily enough on both windows media player and realplayer.
Remote works but need to be within a few feet of the receiver. Can't say this is much of a problem as it has been used mostly on the laptop.

Best to avoid this if you are running on Windows Vista as previous mentioned

do u need special software 4 recording
thanx for ur help

another review
"Easy to set up and use, worked right out of the tin! The software that comes with it is really good. I can even record on to my hard drive stuff that I have watched."

Sounds like it

The quality of the pic will depend entirely upon how good reception of the digital tv/radio signal is in your area. You can run this off your normal TV aerial, or the provided portable antenna. You'll probably get a better signal from your TV aerial, mind you. I would assume that you can choose the quality of the recording by using the settings. I can't say for sure, as I don't have one of these - freeview signal in my area is ****. I use a Satellite card for TV on my pc, hooked up to a Sky mini-dish pointing at the Astra D Satellite. I use Sky Plus for normal TV viewing.

Could I run one of these in my Windows Home Server, which is in the loft?

I'd like to be able to record to the server, then watch recorded data from folder on my laptop downstairs (gigabit networked house). It would be good if I could view live tv via server from laptop downstairs.

Advice appreciated.

Regards

Geeza

That goes beyond my technical knowledge, I'm afraid. Maybe ask someone on the AVForums?

Good idea, although I might just buy one at this price and give it a try anyway.

Cheers

My reply from Bigpockets in regards to the refurbished items and 3 month warranty:

"In answer to your question, we purchase alot of Bankrupt stock, so therefore we cannot sell it as Brand New, or sometimes the boxes have been open, hope this answers your question."

Good price. Voted hot.

But seems to get sketchy reviews over on Amazon. Could be worth the risk at this price though.

so this works with vista then? cheers

Drivers I presumed would not work in Vista so I took these steps and had it working in Vista.

1. Install the software that comes with the DVB-T
2. Go to the program folder and locate file tvjukebox30.exe , go to properties and set the exe file to run in Windows XP SP2 mode
3. Plug in USB DVB-T
4. Vista prompts for CD for look for drivers
5. Install the driver that Vista picks up
6. Run the tvjukebox30.exe and enjoy.

So driver is not Vista driver but it works in compatibility mode.

Can't get mine to work with media portal under xp sp3. Get a 'failed to build graph' message when trying to add tuner. Anyone any thoughts?

It works fine with the supplied (rather poor) TV application and graphedit seems happy enough to build a graph and I have set up the suggested pin connections in the media portal carddefinitions xml file.

Bought it last week for about £9 with free shipping from scan.

I have this, Brought from Big pockets about 6 months ago. Really simple to set up and easy to use.

Hello

I have followed the instructions by splender
