Kerp your receipt safe, I had 2 fitted by the fire brigade and they have been replaced 3 times in the last 5 years. 10 year battery lasts about a year before randomly bleeping. Ok for free but I wouldn't pay for them

Same situation here.

With fire alarms - keep things as simple as possible. Less can go wrong. Could save your familys life.

These are not the same ones. These have a replaceable 9v battery. the ones you have/had are the non replaceable Lithium SI-610.

Am I missing something here? You didn't pay for them - got the fire brigade to come out and fit 2. Are the batteries not replaceable hence why you got the fire brigade out again?

Must remember to start complaining about items I got for free and fitted....

And seeing that the fire brigade try and prevent fires I wonder why they would fit items not fit for purpose.

Alternatively, like most things, people don't review or praise the product if they are happy with it.

Guaranteed the small % of people who aren't, will.

Not too sure what to make out of a lot of posters on this thread haha!!

Thank you thank you, I'm here all week.

Avoid!

I got 4 when B&Q were doing them cheap about a year ago and two have failed with constant alarms (always in the middle of the night) and they eat through batteries. Cold!

I didn't say I got the fire brigade out, the alarms were provided by the fire brigade for free. They should last for 10 years, my ones failed after 12 months. I contacted fire angel to see why it was randomly beeping and they said they were faulty and sent reolacement. I am an my 3rd set of replacement alarms provided by fire angel. I would never by these, and have bought another 2 alternative ones, if the fire angel ones fail again they will be binned this time, even though I have fire angel saved to my contacts.

Don't forget that smoke alarms have expiry dates - I have a couple of this model and it says 'replace by 2018'. I had a couple of CO2 alarms that just switched themselves off on the expiry date (about 5 years).

I've just got these thanks op. I was fortunate enough to have mine fitted by the fire services, but like you they started playing up (crackling noises were very loud). Sadly both of them had your be taken down.
I've bought my own instead now and hope these ones will do us better!

If you choose paypal as payment it goes straight through to paypal and tries to charge £3.99. Anyone done this? I.e. it seems to not charge delivery.

My Fire Angels have been up for 4 years, test them every 2 weeks or so. Paid extra to get the wireless interlinked ones and hopefully they'll never be needed.

It will charge you for delivery a bit later

I have had some of these for a couple of years, they do go through 9V batteries quite quickly which is annoying but don't give many false alarms.

I had a couple of Fire Angels fitted for free by the local fire brigade - one of them kept occasionally having false alarms until one day when there were 10 false alarms in 24 hours (including one at 3.00am), so that got binned quickly afterwards. The other worked, but emitted a "geiger counter" sounding static noise regularly until it too decided have a load of false alarms. I doubt I'd buy this brand myself...

You need to clean your house more and not have the filters getting dust in them.... sadly I am saying this from experience. Removed the dust and false alarms stopped.

one of the best i would say, during warm weather the battery eats up quickly but then again i wouldnt be put off by that price as its nothing compared when you have a family saved.

There was an issue with a small number of the FireAngel ST-620 series which I believe were the ones fitted by the fire brigade. These were the ones with non-replaceable Lithium batteries that should have lasted 10 years, but due to some a problem with the battery some of them lasted less than 2 years.
When customers complained, the company gave out a replacement - no prizes for guessing which model !!!

1) A person has a right to an opinion irrespective of the number of deals he or she has posted. There is no minimum requirement on HUKD. No doubt the first thing you are going to do is count the number of deals I have posted to judge if I am entitled to an opinion here - be my guest.

2) He has already stated it has a 10 year battery so I cant see why you are asking if the batteries are not replaceable.

3) He did not say he got the fire brigade out to replace the alarm. From your post it would seem you are trying to paint this person as a freeloader who needlessly calls out the fire brigade. If you bother to check, you will find that just about every regional fire department offers a free alarm fitting service so please get over it.

4) The fact that someone has done some work for free does not mean that the person who carried out the work (or manufacturer of the appliance) is not liable for any damage or injury caused by the work/appliance. For example, if a person won a mobile phone that burnt their house down due to a charging defect, would it be fair for the manufacturer to argue that because the phone was free they are not liable ?

5) With regard to your comment why they would fit items not fit for purpose, have you not considered the possibility that the fire brigade did not know this at the time ?. If you bother to check you will find some fire brigades have issued safety notices with regard to these alarms and some have stopped giving out certain models.

Thank you for this, it changed my mind about this purchase.

Thanks OP. can't beat this price.

Great find. Thank you

Great spot. Ordered 6. They are fine as long as they don't get dusty in my experience. If they do they start to give false alarms.

How long do the batteries last on these?
