didnt it use to be 2 for 10?

didnt it use to be 2 for 10?

yes. i think normal price is just over £6 for a carvery so this is not a great saving i don't think.

It did use to be 2 for 10, but that deal was only the main course. This deal includes starter or dessert for each person.

the price goes up to over £7 after 6.30 here and that is only one course so its a good deal.....the 2 for £10 was only one course also.

It says "If you’re a Toby fan, you’ll be delighted to know you and a friend can now get two courses for just £12.50* by adding soup or ice cream to complement your slow-cooked roast. "

So you get soup or ice cream for £2 more

Ditto I was going to say the same, we get 2 for 10 once you have signed up to your local one.

Gone downhill very fast, got very tight with the meats.

Brilliant, 3 course meal for me, and a main course for the wife

Crown carverys are way better, they give you more meat and also cheaper.

What kind of meat;)

Got to agree with this. Had one a week or so back and felt like the 'kingsize' option they're now offering for £1.50 extra is comparable to the amount of meat on the regular one before. Considering the regular one's almost a tenner on a Sunday it didn't seem great value for money. The quality of the meat is good though.

Either the batteries need changing on your calculator or you need to wait for the sun to come out again

Stick to independent country pubs, far better food and value

They do not serve much meat on your plate, enough if you are a child but thats it

Thanks!

they are very tight on the meat. their chefs must spend many years being trained, not to cook the finest cuisine, but to be able to slice the thinnest slices of meat off the joint. it's an art, i tell you, to be able to slice such thin slices and keep a straight face when they are confronted with disappointed looks.

i find the veg very good though as you can have as much as you can fit on your plate but the meat definately lacks.

That is just so not the case. The meat isn't anywhere near as good quality as Toby. Crown carveries is very cheap substitute for Toby, they use cheap frozen veg & Yorkshires. But it does the job for £3.99 or whatever it is. Toby is more expensive but so much more tasty. Unless its just the crown that is near me that is poor.

thnaks for this

I agree with them being tight with the meat. You can get better deals, for your money, if you look around. Toby used to be the king of all carverys', this is not the case anymore. Who ever is in charge in running this pub chain needs to get a grip and promote better service and value for money. Experienced poor service in last few visits in two separate Toby pubs.

good deal for 2 pepole better then paying £10 each and better even then if you get a free pud this works out better

When you go to a carvery the meat server always seems to give less meat to people whom they think won't complain. Watch them and you'll see they give rough looking people more meat,

mbplc.com/

they are both owned by the same company tho.

As lots of people say poor meat portions and I've always found the staff in them just don't give a toss, much better at a local carvery which are generally a similar price.

fix

a local carvery is always better. sadly where we live there are no local carveries.

great offer thanks

No, it was two carvery dinners for £10 but that didn't include an extra course.

NO THEY ARENT!!!

The meat is nowhere near as good, especially the beef which is like a shoe and is rank. You should see a doctor if you cant tell. Honestly people these days " oh look its cheaper, so its better - "er no it isnt"

people like you deserve to eat Tesco horse burgers - if you drive the price down enough then next year Tesco will gladly sell you real carp burgers

went to toby on sunday - tasted fine, cheap for a meal out even though it has gone up in last year or so and agree you get less meat but its enough for me

All London's Toby's but one are outside North/South Circular, so only good if you're driving.

Toby carvery are a lot better than crown you pay more because all toby veg is fresh whereas crown is all frozen also all crown meats are cheaper cuts of meat. This is a hot deal!

Thanks
