Two night stay at Brighton's famous The Old Ship Hotel, right on the seafront of the UK's most hedonistic city. Great view of the Pier and the beach, available on select dates until the end of April. It'll be blustery, but Brighton is always a good laugh. There is a secret little fish and seafood shop on the beach promenade just below the hotel.

This offer is a two night minimum, you book through Secret Escapes.

"A delightful seafront stay near Brighton's famous pier, with breakfast, dinner options, and late check-out.

With a privileged and lively location on the pebble-fringed Brighton seafront, The Old Ship Hotel dates back to the 17th century and is one of the well-known old boys of Brighton. The decor is a suits-everyone blend of classic and contemporary, so you're sure to find a welcoming blend of modernity and tradition by the seaside.

Tuck into delicious British dishes at the The Wardroom, with quirky decor and views over Brighton Promenade. You can also dine al fresco in the summer months on the outdoor terrace. If you're thirsty after a day on the beach, sip a drink and a light meal at the bar, or enjoy bubbly with an afternoon tea - complete with a lovely selection of finger sandwiches, cakes and pastries.

Bedrooms are comfortable and classically designed in that eccentric yet cosy English seaside style. Standard Double Sea View rooms boast marvellous views of the sea and famous pier, and Standard King rooms include a large bed.

This is a very old hotel with old decor and room, however the buffet breakfast is very nice.

That was my first thought. I lived in Brighton in the 1980s and remember this place looking old then; but out of interest looked at some reviews and, to be fair, many were favourable so perhaps it's been spruced up. I now think it's probably worth a punt for a couple of nights in Brighton.

Brighton has had a general spruce up since the 80s!

Do you mean there's not much chance of bumping into Pinkie or winning 10 guineas of Kolley Kibber, any more - if so I'm out!
Just bare in mind that this is what Brighton beach currently looks like:

Looks a little shabby on the outside, like a rundown pub, but the inside is lovely

I wouldn't BARE anything on that!
Great location, very nice staff but the room I stayed in January was very dated and smelt damp. The image above looks great if you get that room though.
